What an excellent experience we had yesterday on our food tour! We stopped at 8 different establishments and had an eclectic offering of food and drinks along the way. Aimee was knowledgeable, entertaining and passionate about the food, culture, architecture and history of a city she has adopted as her home. If you are someone who comes to visit Asheville, this is a terrific way to spend an afternoon and enjoy the charm and vitality the town has to offer. Highly recommended!…

All of the nice reviews on Trip Advisor concerning our tour guide, Aimee, are true and correct. She is a very nice person and made the afternoon downtown tour thoroughly enjoyable. The food choices on the tour, however, were good, but not exceptional. Nothing was served that would want us to go back to any of the selected restaurants. For example, the first restaurant served a goose pate on a bed of strawberries and greens--supposedly with a champagne vinaigrette that was tasteless at best. Another offering at a supposedly higher end establishment was potatoes with truffle oil, preceded by a strong tasting drink concoction. Why would anyone go back to order potatoes that were essentially hash browns with truffle oil instead of olive oil! The Chocolate Fetish visit was delicious! Several other stops included pork nachos served with a jelly bean drink and at another stop, a beef slider. While both tasty, they definitely constituted "pub food" not worthy of any rave reviews. The last stop on the tour was to a distillery. While pleasant and informative, we didn't think that it fit well with the rest of the food tour and could have easily been omitted. Overall, it was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon in downtown Asheville, with the price of the tour only slightly high for the food that was offered. I think we have been spoiled by the wonderful food tours we experienced in Europe, so, in all honesty, cannot give this tour an "excellent" rating.…
