Our real estate team and their families took this tour last night and had a fabulous time! Tour guide Ted was such fun and a great source of information about Asheville and our cultural Christmas influences. Who knew there are 5 cultures that have influenced Christmas celebrations here! To learn more you’ll have to take the tour!

Bill was an excellent musician and leader of our Christmas caroling; and while we didn’t sing well, we did our best to sing loudly as Ted instructed. Lol!

The whole process of scheduling the private tour, arranging a meeting location for the trolley and all other aspects were seamless.

We highly recommend this tour for your business group, family, friends and all who are looking for a fun Christmas excursion. About an hour long ride through downtown and historic neighborhoods in Asheville. Be sure to ask for Ted and Bill!

We had some time to fill while waiting to be able to check into our hotel so we stopped at the Asheville visitor center. So glad that we did. We signed up for the overview Gray Line tour that was starting in 10 minutes. It was the best way for us to get a good overview of Asheville and the downtown area within our time frame. Our guide, "Uncle Ted" White, was the best. Amusing, engaging and informative, we got more information regarding Asheville then we would have been able to get on our own. It was amazing watching him navigate the trolley bus around the streets of Asheville, especially when people were parked where they shouldn't have been! We picked a good time of the year as the trolley windows were open and the breeze was nice. I wasn't planning on coming back to Asheville after this visit, but want to now to take advantage of some of the spots that Uncle Ted pointed out and his recommendations for some of the best places to eat. He grew up in Asheville (we went past his beautiful high school) so I feel like we were in good, knowledgeable hands. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an overview of Asheville and letting someone else do the driving!

$33 for two days of unlimited hopping on and off with great drivers who provide history and humor. 11 stops including 2 in Biltmore village where I stayed. Covers all the major areas of the city - and local residents including the Vanderbilts, F Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda. o henry and Thomas Wolfe. No need to call uber or find a place to park if you want to visit different areas, shop, get a bite to eat.

We had Scary Karie as our guide- she’s well versed on the history of Asheville and has an infectious laugh. Our group included teenagers and elderly (folks are in their 80s) and each of us genuinely had a fantastic time. We were able to get a good sense of history of the city and also hear some amazing stories as to what is haunted and the reasons why. Definitely worth doing!

My wife and I came to Asheville to get married and have a relaxing vacation. This was our first time visiting North Carolina. We started our tour at the Asheville visitor center, and our first guide Michael was great. He has a gift of story telling and keeps the visitors entertained and interested. I like the fact that you can hop on or off at multiple locations throughout the city and every time a trolley showed up with a 5 minute window of the scheduled stop. Would definitely reccomend this to anyone wanting to know more about the city of Asheville.

This was a great way to tour Asheville. The city is small, and the tour seems to hit all the highlights. It was very neat learning some of Asheville's unique history of different parts of the city during the ride. This is a "hop on, hop off" trolley, which means just what it says. The full ride (without hopping off) is about 90 minutes. If you have the time, I suggest you take the full ride the first time. There are a few benefits to doing so.
For starters, if you're new to the city, it helps to learn what "attractions" are in each area before deciding what part of town you want to tackle first. The trolley ticket covers two days, so this a plus.
Another benefit of taking the whole trip first is you get to enjoy an uninterrupted tour. An uninterrupted tour means an uninterrupted story. And the storytelling is the magic. Of course, not all trolley drivers are created equal. Some share information - history, tidbits about the city, etc. Others tell stories. MATT, our first trolley driver, was indeed a storyteller. He was so good, I honestly didn't want to interrupt by hopping off.
All this to say, if you have the time take the trolley tour. It's a great experience. Oh and the parking at the trolley pick up location is free. Can't beat that.

Don't miss this tour if you are in Asheville, so many little things you would never learn otherwise! Just took this trolley ride today with DEAN. He made the entire tour so educational and interesting. He knows the city well and is a seeker of historical facts and a comedian who never misses a beat. The time went by like lightning. I wish the Gray Line would do architectural tours, I am certain Dean knows all about the architecture of the city but there is just so much you can fit into a tour! Thank you so much for the great day!! Appreciated the fact that everyone wore masks. The tour guide did not and explained that he has been triple vaccinated, tested and sits quite some distance from the passengers. Considering all that....I felt safe.

I took the hop-on-hop-off tour today. Really an excellent way to see Asheville. Comfortable trolleys, and the narrators are very knowledgeable. Over the course of about four hours I was on three different trolleys with different drivers/narrators, and they were all excellent. So much easier than figuring out how to drive around and park in an unfamiliar city.

I have always enjoyed hop on/hop off tours. They are informative and reasonably priced and, for Asheville, did not disappoint in providing a comprehensive overview of the city. TIP: the $33 cost is particularly reasonable when considering the $25-$35 parking fee at the Omni Grove Park Inn. This hotel is one of stops and you can enjoy the grounds, have a drink or a meal, visit the classic car museum et al .. all without having to pay the parking fee.

We really enjoyed listening to AJ and her tips on touring and the tour itself. The buses were running frequent enough that we didn't have to wait very long to reboard. The first stop at the River Arts district on a Monday was pretty quiet; the 2nd stop at RIver Arts afforded more opportunities for viewing and eating. I wish I had had lunch at one of the downtown stops.
