Had an almost perfect experience at New Belgium Brewing Company today until it came to dealing with the rude guy manning the merchandise tent. But first, let me focus on the positive: it was a gorgeous sunny fall day so there were many customers and yet they they managed the Covid 19 situation quite well by requiring a reservation to be seated in the open air patio. Staff all had masks and customers were required to wear masks when away from their tables- all good. Our server, Katie was very friendly and helpful. Sadly they were out of 3 of the 4 beers we wanted "to go" in six packs so they need to sharpen up their stocking inventory. The ugly part of our experience was waiting in line for a very long time at the merchandise tent, while staying socially distanced. Aaron, a Howard Stern look-alike, was manning the merchandise tent. I stood patiently in line for 15-20 minutes while Aaron waited on those before me. It isn't an efficient process because the tent only shows display merchandise so he had to go back inside to check stock and bring it out. I had lots of time to observe the entire process as I waited in line for quite awhile and wondered why some of the idle employees couldn't help out with the merchandise. After Aaron brought out items sold to the customer in front of me, he chose to go over to checking people in at the restaurant without even acknowledging me. I asked if anyone was available to wait on me and he told me to "wait a sec" in a nasty tone. Well hello, I had been waiting nearly 20 minutes so suggesting I "wait a sec" was not what he needed to say. When he did finally come back over to the merchandise tent, he tried to wait on the woman behind me but she pointed out I was there first and had been waiting quite some time. Maybe he had a bad day but his customer service skills were nonexistent. Maybe he's a "back of the house" employee or else he skipped training on how to positively interact with customers.

It was a beautiful space, definitely worth going to hang out for a while. They had some of the best C-19 procedures I’ve seen for a totally safe and easy experience. Also, I didn’t realize they have Voodo Ranger which was a pleasant surprise. And they offered free samples of two soon-to-be-released IPAs and you could vote on which one’s your favorite.

My first piece of advice is not to drink before the tour. They will be serving plenty of free, delicious beer and you don't want to be drunk before the tour ends. (some of our tour group were, hence the suggestion right off the bat!) Our tour guide handled them perfectly and just kept saying, "Good Vibes Man..." This was a great tour-great afternoon-great beer and great tour guide! (Thanks Ross!!) From beginning to end, we enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot. You need to reserve your space ahead of time and definitely show up on time. Plenty of parking is available. At the end of our tour on a Friday -late afternoon we came out and there were food trucks, live music and of course beer! Families were hanging out on the lawn and was amazing.

Really like this place. The location and ambiance are very cool and the people that work here are awesome. The modifications they have had to make due to covid are a big bummer but I get it.

During these crazy times New Belgium is coming through as you would expect them to. Check the website and see what your options are ahead of time. We made a reservation through Open Table for a group of 4. I would definitely recommend doing that rather than just showing up and hoping to get a table. They had a process for addressing Covid concerns and everyone was friendly and hospitable. What else can I say - the beers were great and the staff was AWESOME!!
