Had an almost perfect experience at New Belgium Brewing Company today until it came to dealing with the rude guy manning the merchandise tent. But first, let me focus on the positive: it was a gorgeous sunny fall day so there were many customers and yet they they managed the Covid 19 situation quite well by requiring a reservation to be seated in the open air patio. Staff all had masks and customers were required to wear masks when away from their tables- all good. Our server, Katie was very friendly and helpful. Sadly they were out of 3 of the 4 beers we wanted "to go" in six packs so they need to sharpen up their stocking inventory.
The ugly part of our experience was waiting in line for a very long time at the merchandise tent, while staying socially distanced. Aaron, a Howard Stern look-alike, was manning the merchandise tent. I stood patiently in line for 15-20 minutes while Aaron waited on those before me. It isn't an efficient process because the tent only shows display merchandise so he had to go back inside to check stock and bring it out. I had lots of time to observe the entire process as I waited in line for quite awhile and wondered why some of the idle employees couldn't help out with the merchandise. After Aaron brought out items sold to the customer in front of me, he chose to go over to checking people in at the restaurant without even acknowledging me. I asked if anyone was available to wait on me and he told me to "wait a sec" in a nasty tone. Well hello, I had been waiting nearly 20 minutes so suggesting I "wait a sec" was not what he needed to say. When he did finally come back over to the merchandise tent, he tried to wait on the woman behind me but she pointed out I was there first and had been waiting quite some time. Maybe he had a bad day but his customer service skills were nonexistent. Maybe he's a "back of the house" employee or else he skipped training on how to positively interact with customers.

We went to New Belgium Brewery on a visit to Asheville. We did get VIP passes which was great. I don't think that the group we were with had VIP passes. I say that only because the entire group was treated the same. Ross, our guide, was wonderful. He was very entertaining and also very knowledgeable! We were able to taste several kinds of beers and were told the history behind each one. After the tour, we went inside and had a couple of pints. Seating was at a premium, but we went there on a rainy day so everybody was inside. There are many outside areas where you can sit and enjoy the beer. We would recommend this without any hesitation at all!

We scheduled a brewery tour for our trip to Asheville to celebrate my husband's birthday, and this was a great tour. We just did the "free" tour, but it was still almost 2 hours and had multiple tastings. The grounds are beautiful and it's amazing to think New Belgium was able to renovate this brown space into such a beautiful campus. Our guide was awesome and you could even tell how much she loved the beer and company. We originally were scheduled for a later tour, but they were able to move our tour up since we were there early. I do recommend making a reservation before you go just in case, as they can be very busy, especially on the weekends. The waiting area/bar was set up great as well!

This was the coldest, least friendly, sterile, boring place in Ashville this weekend. We were excited to visit the brewery of some of our favorite beers so when we were told there was at least a 2.5-3 hr wait list we happily put down our names and kept ourselves busy elsewhere to wait for the text. When we returned we were seated and began to notice how miserable everyone looked. The servers stood so far away from the tables (6’social distance plus an additional 6’), had zero personality (I think it’s been scared out of them) and offered zero information. It was a simple business transaction. Use the scanner thing to pull up the menu, tell me what you want by putting the sign up on the table, here’s your beer. Done. No background music. No ambiance. A group of 6-7 walked in and they made them sit at separate tables. They didn’t stay long. It was honestly depressing. We made the best of it because we have fun with each other anywhere but we didn’t stay long. Every other pub, restaurant, shop, and hotel we stopped at enforced social distancing, masks, we even wore gloves at one restaurant yet they were all happy, friendly, and fun. There was nothing happy, friendly, or fun about the experience here. Until Covid is handled here, or until New Belgium decides to make the best of the situation, gets some speakers for music, and allows the staff to have fun, I’ld suggest sipping on one of their beers at one of the local pubs, bier garden, or pick up a six pack at a gas station. You’ll have a much better time.

Yes, the grounds are amazing. But for me, the customer service stunk. Waited 20 minutes in line, only to finally get to the front to be told that I was in the queue for a table and that would be a 20 minute wait (I call BS on being only 20 min, since the place just opened, and most people don't slam a beer and leave). I understand you fill up, but no communication was made to the people in line. (Although they were actively communicating to people to mask up in line, even though people were 6" apart and it was outside). Just felt like bad customer service. My advice is do what we eventually did, go support a true craft brewery owned by locals.

We stopped here while in Ashville to enjoy a few of their Brews and found that they have some construction that distracted from the nice lawn setting that they have. No negatives on this location other than the distraction of dust and noise at time of our visit.
The beer and food truck experience was nice and looking at what the construction is adding looks like once complete it will add to the over all experience and i will look forward to visiting again.

I'm sorry, but this place is just another beer joint. It's that simple. It's not Victoria and Alberts. We stopped by around noon on a Tuesday and were met by a "greeter" who proceeded to tell us, in a very condescending manner that he didn't think he could seat us as we didn't have a reservation. Well gee, seeing that everyone is seated outside on picnic tables and I could easily see at least 6 empty tables, I was somewhat taken aback. Really? I say. He says "I'll see what I can do" like he's doing me some great favor. This is when the little **** carefully looks at his iPad like he's actually trying to figure out something. I point out the empty tables, That's when this little greeter started to patronize me. Sorry, I won't stand for that. If I could have pulled the mask off his face, I could visualize him looking down his nose at me. If my little greeter reads this, and I hope management will show it to him, make him understand that he is NOT the Maitre d at Le Comptoir du Vin. He's a greeter at a beer joint with a terrible attitude. Oh, by the way, I would have spent money on your T-shirts and some of the other items but I was over this guy. We left and went somewhere else.
You've been warned.

Visiting from Chicago. Excellent and speedy customer service. Josh recommend the right beer for my taste and very energetic about describing the beer products. Him describing the different beer flavors was helpful. Love the patio view of the river. Enjoyed the Food Truck as well. Also enjoyed that dogs are welcomed.

My first piece of advice is not to drink before the tour. They will be serving plenty of free, delicious beer and you don't want to be drunk before the tour ends. (some of our tour group were, hence the suggestion right off the bat!) Our tour guide handled them perfectly and just kept saying, "Good Vibes Man..."
This was a great tour-great afternoon-great beer and great tour guide! (Thanks Ross!!) From beginning to end, we enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot.
You need to reserve your space ahead of time and definitely show up on time.
Plenty of parking is available.
At the end of our tour on a Friday -late afternoon we came out and there were food trucks, live music and of course beer! Families were hanging out on the lawn and was amazing.

Very limited service which I didn’t expect to be a problem since over half of the tables in the already Covid spaced area were empty. I was told by a curt host that the tables were reserved for people that were not there spending money and if I wanted to spend any money at the place , I was going to have to wait around an hour. I generally do not wait to spend money anywhere and I would not be inclined to take free product from the arrogant ‘greeter’ at this place. I’m glad to see an establishment doing so well with Covid that they are comfortable running business away. THANK YOU New Belgium for sending me away. There are a lot of better places in Asheville.
