Great space

Good variety of spirits and nice cocktails. Typical pub food but executed well. Often busy due to great live music. Worth a visit if you want a low lit chill.pub atmosphere.

Stopped by on a Thursday around 6:30 for a beer. This isn't a brewery but they serve beer. I had a nice Blowing Rock Stone fruit and my boyfriend had the Brevard IPA. We enjoyed them. But the bartender wasn't too friendly. Another patron asked a question about the beer selection and he said "I don't know. I don't drink... More

Nice little craft beer pub in downtown Asheville. Good beer selection. Nice, intimate venue for live local bands. They keep it eclectic, jazz to bluegrass. Pub grub is good quality as well.

Granted, this time of year is busy for the folks downtown and at Jack of the Wood. Regardless it's no reason to be jerks. Would not visit here again.

This is a really great place to listen to music. It’s just a truly fun, laid-back bar with an excellent beer selection.

We stopped in here to hear some authentic bluegrass after dinner in Asheville. Pros: We poured down their hard cider a little too smoothly and enjoyed the local tunes and folks dancing. The music, atmosphere, and beverages were all great. Bathrooms were pretty clean too considering how many people were in the place. Cons: not much standing room! But that... More

After spending weekend in Asheville and visiting many bars, I would definitely say that Jack of The Wood is my favorite bar in Asheville. Awesome atmosphere, live music and great local beers on tap.

I had to work in the nearby town of Canton, and I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner. Beer was great, food was great, atmosphere was great, people were great. I only wish you could carry booze outside to smoke, but that is more on the city than the bar. I always visit here when I'm in the... More

Great service, fun atmosphere, live music. We stopped in for dinner on a Saturday, and were told to sit wherever we wanted. We had 2 of the specials, simply because they sounded the yummiest, and we're so glad we did! We had the 2x drumsticks w/ chipotle gastrique (it came with no side), there were 6 good sized drumsticks for... More

Great live music, customers are a mixture of different ages and backgrounds. We went for a Celtic music band, and we really enjoyed ourselves! Bar was very clean, employees were nice, bathrooms were even clean! Great place to visit.
