My wife and I visited the Coral Castle on our recent visit to Homestead. The Coral Castle was built by Ed Leedskalnin in the early 20th Century. Ed built the Coral Castle as a monument to his lost love. He built it out of stone quarried on-site. He constructed the Castle out of multi-ton stones that he moved by himself. He often worked secretly and at night. The Castle is full of all kinds of interesting items including a 9 ton revolving gate, an astronomical stone that points toward the North Star, a large heart-shaped stone table, a bath tub, and many other unusual and beautiful items. The Coral Castle has a unique and fascinating beauty.
Our visit included a guided tour. Our tour guide, Andrea, was very good. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She seemed to really enjoy sharing the Coral Castle with us. She did a great job.
I can think of two drawbacks to our visit. Although our tour guide was terrific not all of the employees were as friendly and enthusiastic. Some others were a bit grumpy. Second is the price. It is a little more expensive than I think it should be. Of course this is my subjective opinion, but I paid less to get into other more extensive tours and locations on this same trip. Even though I think the price was higher than it should be we did really enjoy the visit and we are glad we went.

We made a special trip to the Coral Castle, I am not sure vi would do that again but I would go again when in the area.

The attraction is well run by professionals.

The story is interesting of a lonely skilled tradesman leaving a unique legacy. A testament to what one man could accomplish.

Recommended tours are included, guided and continuous. Join or leave at any time but they are worth listening too

If you have seen this site on a TV program I would go and get the full story. Media is entertainment, not always the truth. There was more stone cutter skill and hard work than alien intervention or secrets of the ancients. Some of the pieces were moved here from the original Florida City location in a pick up truck with just the builder and a teen driver. The most popular package at the gift shop includes a book by the teen explaining some of the techniques.

IMO, the place was a bit pricey for what it is, $19, but any online version of the Entertainment Book will have a 2 for 1. It cost both couples less to buy a book from their home city including the national online subscription than it did to buy the 2nd ticket.

Recommended when in the area. There is also a local diner with FL Lobster rolls or great Cuban food fairly close by so make a half day trip.

Very interesting what a broken heart, hope and hard work for long hours can accomplish, we may never see anything like this again.

I nice little stop to kill an hour or so on the way from the keys back to Miami. The walk through the grounds are with a guide only and tours start every 30 minutes. You CAN TAKE PHOTOS. Just no video. And you must stay with your guide very intetesting story. I now need to watch some YouTube videos about the place to learn more... a bit pricey $18 but so is everything when you are on vacation stayed 1 hour.

The Coral Castle is a mildly interesting roadside attraction but the staff and strict rules make this place miserable. We visited during spring break and were crammed into this place with a group of 40 or so people. The tour guide was trying her best to shout to the whole group but it was difficult for the people in back to be engaged in the tour and impossible for us to see what she was talking about. Everything is roped off and there is no touching of anything (signs and warning everywhere). Several of us wandered a short distance away from the group to walk around and see some of the carvings/sculptures and were abruptly reprimanded to stay with the group. We were courteous but he was completely inflexible and a bit confrontational. We were still within eyesight of the group (the place is not large inside at all). We paid $48 for our family of 3 to get in and left 10 minutes into the tour. The parking lot featured a security guard with a clip board writing down license plates. I am not sure why this place feel so adversarial. It is completely understood that the carvings should be respected and not climbed on or otherwise abused but this place is ridiculously overprotective of these fairly rough stone sculptures.

First off they would not accept their coupon from a visitors book that didn’t have any expiration date. Wouldn’t give senior rate either, we had to pay full price while dodging lots of “models” and film crew doing a “photo shoot” that day! Plus for the price it was very underwhelming and disappointing. The tour guide lady was very strange and her presentation was annoying and stupidly dramatic. So sad we wasted our time!

What could have Be an interesting tour was horrifyingly bad because the staff were so greedy. They combined a bus tour with a large group instead of making it two tours Therefore we all were crowded and couldn’t hear the tour guide. Even after I complained nothing changed. Some people left without even completing the tour. This is shameful business. The cost it almost $20 per person with this poor of an experience is ghastly. Although this man’s life and this creation is interesting I would just watch it on YouTube. I’m embarrassed I gave these people any money. It’s like a carnival act

My husband and I recently spent a couple of hours at this fascinating place. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and spent time talking with us after the tour. It was fun trying to figure out how the builder, Ed, moved these large pieces of coral by himself. Quite a mystery.

Like just about everybody else I saw the Coral Castle on Ancient Aliens. On the way to Key West we decided to stop and see it for ourselves.

The price is ok. $15 per person for a guided tour that lasts about 45 minutes is fair by today’s standards. The tour was interesting and the guides are knowledgeable and friendly. There really isn’t a whole lot to it. The place is a lot smaller than I expected but I’d say it was worth going. I mean, for $15 you can barely get a decent lunch.

If you’re passing by this is definitely worth a stop. I wouldn’t go too far out of the way but it is a nice diversion on the way to Key West.

Oh, and it doesn’t look like alien technology had anything to do with the building of the castle, in case you were wondering...

Didn’t know they only do guided tours now. Didn’t see that anywhere on the website. We got there at 11:30 and had to wait till noon to do the tour. It was hot. By the time the tour started, there were so many people in the tour that you couldn’t really appreciate it since the tour guide was talking about one thing while we were still looking at the previous thing she was talking about. We missed half of what she said. If there are going to be tours then that should be stated on the website and tour sizes should be limited. They said they did they don’t allow tours because of COVID but yet they packed about 40 of us in a tour with no social distancing whatsoever. The tower was also closed. Won’t go back until we’re allowed to walk around freely.

It's neat. Wish I'd known that they are only guided tours (no walking around yourself) available at certain times (they didn't tell us that when we were buying the tickets). It was really hot when we went and we had to just sit outside and wait for the tour to start. Shortly after the tour started the kids were so hot we had to leave after only a few minutes.
