Very impressive, historic home; beautifully preserved! Staff is very knowledgeable. One feels as if they are personally acquainted with the McFaddin-Ward family by the end of the tour. A must see! Well worth the five dollar fee!

The tours are so informative & casual. The guides know everything about this home & the McFaddin family. The Christmas tour is my favorite. The grounds are gorgeous.

In Beaumont's rash of historic preservation, celebrating it's oil and timber past, this Beaux-Arts mansion sets the standard. Admiring docents give a forceful description of "Miz Mamie", who moved in age 12, expected her newly-wed husband to live w/ the folks( poor guy never left) and dominated Beaumont society for 4 decades. Far-sightedly, she set up a trust to preserve... More

When asked what I should check out, the McFaddin-Ward house was the top of the list. I was not disappointed. They recommend booking in advance for the guided tours, which i did not have a chance to do, but was kindly worked into the next tour. Pictures are not allowed, which is too bad because they have amazing things inside,... More

The house is an amazing example of the extreme wealth found in families involved in the early oil boom. It's an added bonus that the interior is decorated with original family pieces. The docents tour was especially well done...informative without being repetitive. We never felt rushed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Another bonus is the original stable/ servants... Beaumont has a rich history, and the story of this house and the family that lived in it is an important part of that history, I learned. I did not know what to expect when I took the tour of the McFaddin-Ward House, but the docent that guided the tour, aside from being very friendly, was extremely knowledgeable about the... More

We went there as kids because Mrs. McFaddin always fad the nursing students stop by. As a child I remembered the stained glass nook and the staircase railing(which we were forbidden to slide down) as well as the kitchen area. .It reminded me of my Great Grand mothers house a bit. I don't know if they ere friends but they... More

The home is stunning and the stories are interesting. I learned so about Beaumont's history in one visit. This is a must-do attraction if you live here or visit the area.
