From lectures on collecting in Texas to just beautiful Christmas decor this is a local treasure we enjoy several times per year and as the grand kids get older we plan to take them as well.

We live near here. I love that they have events throughout the year. My favorite is allowing families to take pictures on the grand staircase at Christmas time. I consider it a must see while your here.

This turn-of-the-century house and carriage house is an interloper's glimpse into the life and times of the ultra Texas rich. Our docent was very knowledgeable and conducted our tour in a very interesting and hospitable manner. Not only did she give us a thorough tour of the house, but she also made the family that lived there very real and... More

Had the most informative and interesting tour we have ever had. Our docent Madilyn was so knowledgable on the McFaddin family history it was as if she had lived during that period. It was a nice way the spend a beautiful spring morning in Beaumont.

This house is a must when visiting Beaumont, it is elegantly beautiful and has been restored to the high standard. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly as they tour you around the house and detail every room and every single piece in each room. Catriona our Docent (tour guide) made us feel welcomed and accommodated and every question asked she... More

We were so excited to be able to get on a tour but the excitement ended once the tour began on this Tuesday! Our docent followed the six people on tour versus leading us. Those in the front of the six had no idea what was said. However, that was only a small part of the problem as every room... More

Dear RJourn, I am so sorry it has taken me this long to get back with you. Trust me, it wasn't because we don't care. I have merely been thinking very carefully about my response. Our tiny staff is most upset over your review because we deeply love "our house" and want each of our guests to have a wonderful... More

This is definitely worth visiting but you must ring ahead to book into a tour to be sure to get a place. It's only $5 so such a bargain for an hour or so of information. The house is beautiful and full of wonderful things to see and the docents ( guides) really know their stuff!! This is awesome!!!

This is a beautiful home which was owned by the McFaddin family originally. Their daughter, Mamie McFaddin-Ward was the last of the family to live there. The family owned the land where the Spindletop oil well gusher was drilled.
