The unpaved 6 mile gravel road to get to the trailhead was pretty rough (45 minutes). At one point we almost turned back because of a steep hill with large divets but we made it! We have a midsize truck - Chevrolet Colorado with 2WD....More

Sure the road there can be rough in the washes... That's why they warn you. A friend made it in a Ford Focus. Maybe it's user error... Wonderful campsites with wonderful views. Hike gets steep at the end. Bring plenty of water.

It was a good hike, but I wouldn't make that drive again if you paid me. Very rough road..and we were in a 4x4. Never again.

This is not one do do in summer, but was nice in March. Hike up to the place where the falls would be if we had rain. Still there is shade and great views ahead and behind you on the trail.

We loved the varied terrain. From the sotol grasslands to the rocky areas dotted with pine trees. There are some areas where hikers need to pay close attention to their footing, especially coming down. We arrived at e falls just as the sun was hitting...More
