We had a good time at Rum Pointe. The course is very scenic and challenging but not too difficult. It was in great shape. As a foursome, we played the front nine at midday on a Sunday in under two hours, and our only complaint is that the groups got backed up on the back nine so that we had to wait on most every hole. There were two back-to-back twosomes in front of us who could easily have been combined into a foursome. And there was no marshal to encourage faster play. Otherwise, we had an excellent experience.

What a beautiful course and friendly staff. All of us agreed, that this is our new favorite course. It is in great shape and fairly forgiving for women. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and outgoing. The starter gave us a little history lesson while we waited to tee off. Pace was fantastic, actually played in 4 hours!! Upon returning the other staff members greated us, cleaned our clubs and help load into the car.

The rum pointe golf course is an easy but fun day of golf. It is not the most challenging course in ocean city but it is fun to play and has many nice views. If you want to have a relaxing and pleasant day without much "golf" stress, than try rum pointe!!

Beautiful course. Beautiful condition.
However, horrible round. The course was so backed up we had holes with 4 foursomes waiting. That is a 30 to 40 minute wait on a T Box.
We had 16 golfers and will never play there again.

Our group of nine played the front in one hour forty eight minutes and completed the round in three hours fifty minutes. Pretty good pace of play for any day let alone on a Saturday don't you think? NOT, the ranger ragged us time and time again for our pace of play? Absolutely zero common sense for this ranger, and it's unimaginable that the management of an supposedly upscale course would have such a ranger as this ruining the day of so many golfers who were playing a very fast pace of play. So BEWARE, if you're going to spend $100 to $150 to play this course your day too may be ruined by this type of ranger put on this course by their management. We won't be back! We'll spend our golf money elsewhere.

Outstanding course withall the extras.
Driving range, putting green, pleasant staff.
Most of all, wonderfull golf with a challenging but playable course in excellent condition. Make it one of your plays at O.C.

This course was amazing. It has incredible views, fairways & greens in unbelievable shape. Now the staff was a whole different animal. We arrived about a 1/2 hour before tee time, so we could hit some balls and loosen up. Unfortunately that time was used standing up top by the bag drop waiting for a golf cart. Once it finally came we were told to "go directly to the tee, you're up". The starter was a very nice guy and told us about the ob and water hazards and was cheerful. The cart girl was very nice, always a smile even on the times we did not purchase anything. They also had a girl at one of the par 3's running a hole in one contest who was terrific. The only other gripe I had was the lack of a Ranger to speed up the pace of play. There was one there but he obviously was not doing his job. There was a group that was about 2 holes behind and they killed the whole course.

Nice course...have played there with family the past 3-4 years while on vacation, but the on-course staff are terrible...imagine the movie Grumpy Old Men but set on a golf course and the guys have hangovers.
Every year the starter has been rude, and hit a new low this year...he watched the group in front of us take 4-5 shots to get about 150 yards off the first tee, then yelled at us for taking a breakfast ball to start the round.
Finished up our round and waited at the green to watch our other group finish out and got yelled at by another employee saying that we had to return our carts immediately because they needed them for other groups.
Here's an idea - if you're going to charge $130/player, maybe have enough carts to properly equip everyone without having to yell at customers about lingering at the end of their round for 5 minutes, and rather than yell at customers for taking a mulligan to start a round, maybe don't book tee times every 8 minutes.
There are plenty of similar courses in the area with better staff, nice layouts and similar pricing (Bear Trap is a great example).
We will not be going back to Rum Pointe.

What are the chances of a group of 8 guys getting to replay the course after our morning round on a Saturday in mid May? Meaning, will it be too booked to do that?

Thanks for your question. Chances are unless you are speaking of the Saturday of Mother's day weekend, we will be booked until at least 2-3pm. If you wait until the day of play, you will get a twilight rate or replay rate but will not be guaranteed to finish your second round. If you want a guaranteed finish you will have to pre-book the second round. If you have any other questions please call me at 888-424-8004. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you at Rum Pointe!
