    Beautiful Course and responsive Staff!
We totally enjoyed our golf experience despite an encounter with a nasty fellow golf. My husband Teed off with a group of four, but was instantly pressurized by one of the golfer. We felt very uncomfortable and suggested that they play ahead and we'd rather follow behind, but the golfer was threatening to have us throw off the golf course. I called the office right away and requested that we played with the group behind us, or by ourselves. A staff member immediately came by and confirmed that we should not be pressured by anybody and that that we could just play by ourselves. The rest of the day was just wonderful and we were able to enjoy the beauty of the golf course and finish in due time. Thumbs up to and appreciation to the staff, and also if anyone is playing golf just for fun (or the scenary), don't get bullied by other golfers!

    Excellent golf courses
War Admiral is one of my favorite golf courses to play near the beach. It's also one of the nicest to look at while playing. Man of War is also a good links style course which is also fun to play and a bit easier than War Admiral. I give both an excellent rating.

We had A 715 tee time. When we got there, the pro said we have to check the course because it had been raining the day before like a Noah Ark flood. After the superintendents assessment. They said they would try to open later in the day. We were obviously disappointed. Being a Saturday, We knew we couldn't get out on another course even if they were open. The pro then got on the phone and pulled some strings and got us out at Eagles Landing. He did not have to do this. We flew over to Eagles Landing, and got right out before any other groups. I was very surprised that they were open! Lots of standing water. The staff was great at Eagles Landing and said we had to rush a little bit because they had an outing going out at 12. So they gave us a discount. We had planned on playing 36 holes at Glen Riddle. So after our first round at Eagles we bounce back over to Glen Riddle. The pro got us out in 10 minutes because he knew we had been there earlier. He gave us the replay fee and they couldn't of been nicer. The course had drained nicely and was in outstanding shape. What could've been A disastrous day turned into a great one. And the guys at Glen Riddle made it happen. And I truly thank them for that, since we had traveled 300 miles to play. I highly recommend it and had a fantastic experience.

Bought a 4-round package through Ruark Golf, paid $472 per person, for a group of 8 people and played September this year. The course included Rum Pointe, GlenRiddle Man O' War, GlenRiddle War Admiral and Lighthouse Sound. Rum Pointe was in great shape and Lighthouse Sound had been recently aerated; the two Glenriddle courses were in awful shape, greens had not been cut or rolled, dairways and tee boxes were worse than some of the county course in MD, VA area. Now you'd expect that when you pay more than $100 per round that the courses would be in pristine condition and if that weren't the case, they'd tell you before you got there. Nope. When we went to check in at the pro shop, at least they told us about the condition of the course and gave us $50 vouchers for future play. But at this point what were we supposed to do other than check out the course. We played, didn't like it, went back to the clubhouse and they were at least nice enough to offer us each a free golf shirt which we all took. However, we'd never book another golf package through Ruarkgolf service since they are not upfront with the condition of their golf courses. As a group we are better off checking out their competition. An email to the package company would not offer us even a partial refund. So golfers beware!

Man o War was a lot of fun, very much a links styled course. The fairways were fantastic the way the ball sits up so well. Good mixture of tough holes and holes where you can make par. War Admiral is a target golf course, a lot different from the Man o War course. As long as you hit it where you can find it, I believe you will score better on this course even though there are a several very challenging holes. The starters and staff were fantastic and added to the enjoyment. Glad we played both these courses.

The golf course was in very good condition with the exception of the sand traps. Given the rain that the area recently received the course was quite playable. A few holes were cart path only. The staff was extremely friendly. Our foursome enjoyed our round and we will be back again.

Both courses are worth the trip. Staff and service are great. Must put into your golf rotation. Great restaurant nearby!

Played the Man O' War course. Very tough, those "sea grass" rough patches just eat balls alive.
If you are not perfecty straight you are really in trouble. Staff seemed a little slow to react. Stuck behind some really slow players. I don't mind people doing what they need to to get though the course, but, if a person needs 12 practice strokes on each shot, they should be told to move on or move over. Also, the beverage cart was pretty scarce. And they had this woman running a contest on one of the three's where you pay $10 and if you get close to the hole you win things, hole in one, big prize, etc... seemed a little tacky to me to pay their swollen green fees and then have a huckster harassing people out on the course. I suppose some people like that sort of thing, not me.

We played Man O War in the spring, and came back in the fall to try the other side. The course was nicely laid out and not as open as the previous. It’s uniquely different and was challenging but not ridiculous. The only issue we had was that the course was “cart path only” because of recent rain, and there were a lot of leaves due to heavy winds the night before. We lost more balls than usual due to wet fairways and the leaves, but clearly this shouldn’t reflect negatively on the course, and the rangers were understanding.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time we've played man o' war. We thoroughly enjoy the course and it's one of the better inland courses.

After paying premium rates, this was not up to the standard of a premium golf course. Greens in poor condition, sand traps without sand and not raked, and poorly mowed grass with clumps of cut grass in the rough around the greens. All of my outing members agreed this was not up to the high quality standard of other premium golf courses in the area.
