So sad to here this course is closing on January 31st. This is the second course in the Berlin area to close in recent years. It was a favorite, as it was fairly inexpensive, great staff. Sorry to see a course close that makes it possible for the "not so wealthy" to play. Everything else in the area is expensive and crowded. Goodbye my friends!

My family and I have played golf at both courses...not a bad layout- the East course is a bit more forgiving, the West course a bit harder if it's wet beware lots of standing puddles --if not, a fun afternoon of golf assuming you play the correct Tee's. nice pro shop and nice restaurant for a snack at the turn or a hamburger after

reservations are required

Both courses ued to be pretty good and were value priced. Over the summer both 18-hole courses have had to close at least one green due to disease/fungus. Quality has certainly dropped.

Golfed on the East course on a Monday morning. Every Par 4 hole had 4 groups on it! How does that happen? Very slow pace. Rain from 3 days previous made it a very wet course...but not that backed up! The greens were extremely sandy, and had to clean ball before hitting your shot. We complained to the attendant after we finished, and he was very rude. I told him that I would report him and write a review on Tripadvisor, He gave me another attendants name, which we found after reporting to the management and said "nobody reads internet reviews". Hopefully this kind of situation will be remedied...quickly. We won't ever be back. Sorry to say.

A tale of two rounds…I played the East on Friday and West on Saturday and my experiences were night and day. The East course is an azoysia lined paradise. The course was well maintained, properly marked and thoroughly enjoyable. The pace of play was great and my friends and I enjoyed a great round. Lunch was good- not great, and the clubhouse staff friendly and fun. The bagboys were kind enough to store our bags overnight and just made us feel like members even though we were just visiting. Saturday morning was not as accommodating. We were rushed out to the West course and teed it up only to get caught up in some of the slowest pace of play in a long time. No rangers, no signs, nothing to encourage an enjoyable round. Add to that a clubhouse staffer to come out asking if we had brought any beer onto the course. I understand rules are rules, but in 25 years of playing golf, I have NEVER had beer confiscated (let alone interrogated) on a course. Had we been littering or being boisterous on the course, I could understand, but we weren’t. When I asked the clubhouse staffer if there was anything they could do about the pace of play (3.25 hours to play the front) they replied “I’ll look into it” and returned to the clubhouse. The west course is not an azoysia track and was not as well maintained. The course description touts “two distinctly different golf experiences”, and they are right- a good one and a bad one. I’ll come back to play the East course anytime. I’ll have lunch off site, play my round and head out to have my dinner offsite.

I’ve played this course a number of times over the past years and never was I so impressed with the staff and course condition than on my recent visit. Courses in Maryland had tough year due to the exceptional rainfall, but The Bay Club weathered the storm well.

Now the news is that this great pair of courses is closing. So sad... hard to see why the Freeman company couldn’t run it successfully. Sure it wasn’t as exciting a layout as some of its neighbor courses ( Glen riddle, rum pointe ). But it was basic solid course always kept in great condition.

I played both Bay Club courses in three days last week. I played better on the East but I stated mid morning so greens were firmer and dryer. I started at 7:00 on the West and the greens were very wet from humid conditions and dew thus they were soft. The East course was better condition then the West. The East course maybe a bit easier the West. It was very hot and humid both days. There were water coolers at several locations on both courses. There was a drink cart too.
I really enjoyed the rounds. Will go back!

Excellent layout with several interesting holes. Conditions were good, staff was excellent. Greens putted true, but speed varied from green to green. Would play again

Played the East Course and was impressed with the quality of fairways and greens. We let a couple singles play through, but we never felt pushed and enjoyed the course. Enough sand, water, and trees to make the game interesting. Electric carts were nice, too. We'll definitely play here again.
