Comfy, well resourced, and huge!
Feb 2020 • Solo
An incredible AMC theater at the top floor of Tyson’s center. It has a large and varied food court right to one side and a TGI Friday’s to the other and connections on both directly into upper levels of the parking garages. It is extremely clean and well staffed as well as having numerous self serve kiosks. There even is a theater bar! The theaters themselves are huge, comfy, and spotless. 5 stars without a doubt.

Great Movie Theatre
Mar 2019 • Family
The movie theatre itself was AWESOME! But the trash cans were literally overflowing and most of the bathroom stalls didn’t have toilet paper; that being said the quality of the picture and sound almost made up for both of those things!

Good movie theater
Sep 2018
We have been here many times. You choose seats in advance. The theater is clean and spacious with stadium seating and large screens. Because it is in a mall and at the food court, it can be crowded outside the theater but there are dozens of good restaurants and a large open air area.

Marvel Stud10s IMAX Marathon
Sep 2018 • Couples
So 10 years crept up just like that. So AMC was pretty much the first to publish their times and open up ticket sales, so with careful planning, we selected the movies we wanted to see: Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Infinity War. As I was using the app to make the purchases, I loaded up all of the passes into my wallet on my phone, one of the better things I like about this convenience.

So the first day, great, no issues. The second day, went to scan, and was ushered over to Guest Services. A supervisor came down to look up the issue, and said she’d be right back. Apparently another patron had used their AMEX to purchase tickets in advance and when they came to pick them up, not only did their tickets print out, mine did as well. Luckily for me, that person turned them in. So I was handed all of my tickets for the rest of the movies.

We hit up the concession stand, and decided to indulge. We opted for the caramel popcorn. Be warned, a Large is almost too much to share. Go for the smaller size. Also be careful, it’s sweet, like super sweet sugar rocks sweet, and after awhile, the novelty of caramel popcorn wears off.

We had tickets for Sunday, but ended up having to pass on the movie due to scheduling conflicts last minute. Our final movie was the 10:20p Infinity War. So being a for AMC staff member (we’re talking black polyester, embroidered vests, white shirt and bow tie, and tuxedo pants days) the closing concession shifts were the worst. But tonight there was only one guy working the front. We waited in the regular line, as I don’t frequent AMC as much now to warrant the Gold or A-List status. But as we were waiting someone walked into that queue. Well we got bumped and at that point we left. If you’re going to keep those separate lines open. Keep two crew members at the counter or close both lines. You can check how many seats have been sold to warrant the decision to close down those queues, and save on staffing budgets.

All in all it was a good time.

Matinee Prices
Jan 2018 • Solo
AMC is the last theater in the DC area that actually has matinee prices under $10 (7.29 to be exact). The theater has been in Tyson’s for a long time and back when it was put in the seats were luxury, but now they are a bit dated. Of the 16 theaters, only one or two have been updated to the better reclining seats but with that comes a higher price. The best place to sit is one row back from the middle aisle behind the spots for people in wheelchairs. Sitting here almost guarantees that no one will be sitting in front of you. Tyson’s was also one of the first theaters in the area that let you reserve your seat but sadly people buy their assigned seats and then move around in the hopes that people don’t come (as it was with my visit today). Better enforcement of assigned seats is needed and a little renovation.

Can be very busy but overall good
Dec 2017 • Family
Arrived on Christmas day so expected it to be busy but still had to queue up for tickets and food. Actual cinema has good selection of films and really comfortable seats with plenty of legroom for tall people.

IMAX 2D option
Nov 2017 • Friends
I don't like putting 3D glasses on over my regular glasses, but I like the big IMAX screen. This theater offers the 2D version which I really like. Reserved seats as well although they don't recline like many other area theaters. Their big selling point though is a full service bar separate from the concession line. No one ever uses it. It is to the right as you enter, where the arcade used to be. Most I've ever seen there is one person. Hidden gem for sure.

Nice experience
Apr 2017 • Couples
I really enjoyed this theater. We ordered tickets online and selected our seats ahead of time. We then could go to a kiosk when we got there to print the tickets. We were intrigued that you could order food ahead of time and have it waiting for you when you got there for the movie.
The seats in the movie were not the best I've ever been in, however they were still better than most. The screen was very large and we had a lot of room to ourselves.
I also appreciated the opening graphics, as odd and minute as that may sound. Even the opening sections telling you to turn your phone off were customized to animated movies and all of the previews were for animated movies. I assume if you were going to see something more dramatic it would be customized more towards those types of movies.
It was fairly cold in the theater though, so I would suggest wearing layers to ensure premium comfort.

Great Theater
Mar 2017 • Couples
The theater is usually very clean, the matinee prices are cheap(somewhere in the $7 range) and the reserved seating system creates a stress and hassle free experience.

Workers not doing their job
Mar 2017 • Friends
Bathrooms were disgusting. The women's on the 9-16 side had absolutely no toilet paper. Trash all over the place. Went to main women's bathroom and it was dirty too. At least some toilet paper. Many workers standing around talking instead of doing work.
