We did an afternoon rafting excursion. Jeff, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and provided lots of info to great hikes, areas to explore, etc. However, our 2-6:00 excursion turned out to be an actual 90 minutes on the river and 20+ minutes to reach the area where the raft was launched and returned. I heard several times about the river running fast and how we might linger a bit but I certainly didn’t expect to arrive back by 4:30 and that was with a delay waiting for the van to pick us up. Also, due to my own ignorance, I expected that we all would be given an oar and be a real part of the rafting experience. This was an “oar boat” not a paddle boat which means that the guide does all the work and we just relax and enjoy the ride. There was very little white water and what there was, we cautiously went around. So if you’re looking for a very laid back float trip, then this is perfect. If your looking to be an active part of the experience, be sure to make sure you know what you’re getting. Everyone was super nice but this was not what I was seeking.

Zach was our river guide and he was amazing, he knew how to handle the raft and he made our trip the best ever! He knew how to position the raft to get the best splash and wet fun for everyone. So glad we took the time to do this. Zach was the best and would hope to have him as a guide again.

Response from MoabRiverlover, Director of Sales at Tag-A-Long Expeditions

Hello Davidnewtown, Yes, our company has just recently merged with another company in town, Adrift Adventures, for our Jeep, Raft, and Hiking tours. Canyonlands By Night & Day has taken over all of our jet boat operations. We are still in the process of finalizing that merge and it should not be a secret to anyone! We have tried to notify everyone who has a reservation with us that this change is happening and, I am not sure when you took your trip or even what trip it was, but if you didn't get that notification then I am very sorry. I encourage everyone who has a reservation who has not received any alternate information to contact us directly and we will let you know about the change immediately. I would be very interested to know how the tour with our partner company went, though. Was it a one-star tour? If so, then we would like to know what was wrong so we can make it better! Thank you, Sarah

On our "Family Friendly" full day Raft trip, Zack took through several class I and II rapids and one class III rapid, which were all great fun and loads of splashing and excitement, but it was in the quiet times between rapids that we truly grew to love our guide Zack's extensive knowledge and love of the River. A great time, well worth it even on the incredibly crowded and busy Memorial Day weekend.
