We had a total blast on this Sunset, 3 hour, Side - by - Side 4x4 tour. Our guide was always focused on our total safety and took the time to provide clear and concise instructions on how and where to maneuver on the rocks and climbs. WE LOVED IT!!!

Such an amazing experience. Our guide, Nick gave great backstories on the history of the area in which we explored. Although it was an exhilarating ride (to say the least), we developed a tremendous amount of trust in Nick’s ability to maneuver the vehicle and hills that we climbed. He timed our sunset perfectly. The experience was one our group of four seniors will never forget. Thanks for the memories!

Hell's Revenge is a large area of petrified dune fields between the town of Moab and the Colorado River to the NE of Moab. While they are beautiful and interesting territory, there true significance to the Moab Experience is a course for off road 4X4 experiences. We visited the area with Moab Adventure Center in one of their large jeep trips. The rock hills created by the petrified dunes are perfect for this use as they provide a thrilling ride while at the same time a griping service for the vehicles. It really is beautiful country to see, especially the Colorado River Overlook that also shows you the southern end of Arches NP. However, it really is awesome to experience in some off road fashion.

Kyle was a great tour guide! He was interesting, funny, and knew so much about the area. The sunset at the end of the trail overlooking the Colorado River was gorgeous and led to some amazing photos. The experience was fun and exciting (and a little bit scary at times)! We have nothing to say besides positives!

We had such a great time on this tour, and the best part was our guide ben. Such a kind soul, and he still managed to teach us all about the area even though he wasn’t feeling 100% and had lost his voice some. My kids loved him and he made the tour so enjoyable. The tour had a great mix of uphill and downhill climbs as well as sandy burms to snake through. And great views from several high points as well! I was hesitant to book but it was well worth our money and we will recommend to all of our friends who visit.

What an experience...we road in a hummer with Chad from Moab Adventures. Not a trip for the faint of heart. This is the type experience that you tell your friends about?? Highly recommend and would do again. Recommend that you google Hell's Revenge so you know what you are getting into...but if you are adventures you will love it!!

Luke was a great tour guide for the High Point Hummer Tours. His driving skills were safe and knowledgeable in the 7 ton hummer. He was kind to offer to take photos often, told great stories and taught us about dinosaurs and the history of the area. He offered snacks and water to keep us hydrated. If you are looking for a guide with a positive outlook on life that loves his job- request Luke.

Once you are comfortable with what the machine can do it is not as scary but man, what a start!! No easing into it for sure. Ben was a great tour guide making sure the group stayed together and lots of good stories at the stops. Definitely steep inclines and downhills along with very rocky terrain and sandy areas to go through. They provided plenty of water. Only thing I wish I had taken was a towel for the seat. Being in July it was of course quite hot on the noon tour and even though the stops out of the vehicle are short, that seat heats up in a hurry. If you are wearing shorts, I’d bring a towel to sit on. A bit nerve racking for me but my husband had a blast and the views at the stops were excellent.

OMG… not for the timid of heart . My husband loved driving the UTV but was glad we had a guide. Would never attempt the climbing of boulders or dipping down into canyon/sand traps without a guide. Once on top of rock formations, the view was spectacular!!! The experienced driver made it fun !!!

Is there an easy way to just watch people do hells gate without taking any off road trails? I just want to park and walk over, where’s the closest place to park
Written May 25, 2024
If booking an excursion like this one or other sightseeing tours, are the park reservations made automatically or do you still need to make reservations for park access?
Written May 6, 2022
You have to go through Hell's Revenge to get to Hell's Gate. You don't have to do Hell's Gate though. Most Rental companies don't allow you to go through Hell's Gate.

Could we bring our 1 year old on this?

PS car seats may not be able to be used at all in an ATV and am uncertain about the Jeeps. More thought of when my own kids were that age says - save it for later...

Do I have to take a guide or I can just rent the utv and drive myself?
Written June 17, 2020
You can just rent an ATV but the ride with a guide will go much more exciting places. And people do flip their ATVs rather regularly there

How much does the tour cost?

Twisted Jeeps use Jeep Wranglers! They're customized and do an amazing job of guiding and driving on this incredible trail.

Hi, we are also a family of 4, looking to have a guide drive us in one vehicle. Please tell me which company you used for your Hell's Revenge ride. Most of the listings we are seeing, you have to drive yourself. Thanks In Advance!

We used Dan Mick Tours...Dan is the one who originated the trails and tours in Hell's Revenge. Today his adult children and other family members lead many of the tours. They tackle Hell's Gate (a difficult drive down into a deep crevice) and come out using Stairway to Heaven. Many other tour groups come to watch and film them. You will be doing it! You won't be sorry using them. Very safe...and very exciting!

I'm an experienced 4x4'er visiting Moab next month camping in our travel trailer pulled by my stock 2015 Ram 4x4 Sport so will only have my truck to drive. Can a stock 4WD truck do this trail?
Written March 26, 2019
would not recommend you do this, some difficult parts of trail require much clearance.
