Unbelievable... if you have your own 4x4 go, or take a tour, but see it. One of the best top 5 things to do in Moab.

If your into off roading you've probably already heard about hells revenge. Its an AMAZING experience driving on the slick rock and challenging yourself and vehicle. Just make sure you have the skills and a good vehicle it's dangerous if your not prepared.

We rented a 4 seater side by side and headed out for the day. This trail isn't for the beginner, steep climbs, drop offs and amazing scenery. Allow at least 4 hours to really enjoy the entire route

Hell’s revenge was a unique experience for us. We went with the Moab Tourism Center and loved it. A bit harrowing but a blast. It was freezing though. Pay attention and follow your guide. It is truly a lot of fun but can be dangerous...More

Trip Report -over 100 everyday but still had a blast. (1 Reply)
- took prop flight from denver to canyonlands(let the fun begin) cool flight and not too bumpy. rented a 4wd jeep from enterprise at the airport. note- this was a lot less money than the rentals in Moab but it was a stock jeep. all we needed though to do fins/things, chicken corners, gemini bridges, shafer trail, ..... -stayed in town at cottonwood condos- great location and wonderful condos (highly recommend) day 1. hiked corona arch at dusk when it was cooler (this was our favorite time...More

Moab is awesome. Glad you and the kids were able to cope with the heat. I'd love to try mountain biking in DH one day. I'm not experienced at all, though. What kind of technical stuff is involved? Sounds like a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing.

3-4 Full Days (3 Replies)
My hubby and are traveling (both 31, in good health and very active) around Utah making all the big stops for sight-seeing and hiking. We have tentatively allotted 3-4 full days for the Moab area. We will be camping (not staying in hotels) during the middle of this March, and are up for just about any hike. This is the itinerary we were starting to put together, but I have a feeling that it is way over-ambitious. Any helpful hints would be great! Also, since we are camping, should we camp in...More

We were supposed to take this trip last year, but due to family emergency we had to post-pone. We will be leaving the end of August. I have lodging for 4 nights in Moab with a Hells Revenge tour, and a trip with Moab Cliffs and Canyons, parks and drives to fill in the rest of the time. Then to Monument Valley for 1 night, with a back country tour the next morning. And 2 nights in Mesa Verde and then slowly head home. Everyone on here has been very helpful and I am so excited to go on this...More

One option is the four corners monument. There are typically 10-15 booths/tents with various wares for sale. It's a bit out of your way, so hopefully someone else can suggest something more convenient.
