My friend and I were visiting Moab for a few days and decided to book a tour with Pinnacle. The tour we choose was called “Scenic Helicopter Tour: Edge of Canyonlands Extended (60 minutes)”

Two days before our trip, we received a call from the office. Pinnacle wanted to see if we could reschedule due to an upcoming high winds forecast. Pinnacle was super flexible working us into the schedule a day earlier than we had originally planned. We ended up being the last tour of the day on a Sunday evening just before sunset.

There was plenty of parking at the heliport. We checked-in to the office where we were weighed on a scale for the weight and balance of the helicopter. You are able to take snacks and a bottle of water to the helicopter if needed. After some short conversation and restroom break, we were introduced to our pilot Jake.

Jake walked us out to the helicopter where we he gave us a short safety briefing and got us setup with headsets. You are able to ask questions and chat with your pilot over the headsets. The helicopters are well maintained and comfortable. I appreciated the air conditioning.

We soon found ourselves in the air with Jake pointing out the features around us as we flew over the surrounding landscape. Although some airspace is restricted, such as the national parks, we were able to see a lot of the local highlights including some arches.

Jake was friendly and patient as he answered our questions throughout the flight. I thought the 60 minute flight was about right. If you end up going for a shorter flight, I am sure you’ll still see plenty.

After we landed back at the heliport, Jake offered to take a ton of photos of us with the helicopter in the background.

It was a great overview of the Moab area. I recommend taking our lead and doing the helicopter tour as an introduction to your visit.

We scheduled a tour of the vast and beautiful area around Canyonlands, as the park was closed due to the Coronavirus. It was wonderful and worth every penny - the copter sails low above the canyons, circles beautiful rock formations, flies over the river several times, and gives a panoramic perspective to the amazingly varied landscape. Our pilot told stories of the history and legends of Native People, prospectors, outlaws, and more recent adventurers.
Flights into park airspace are allowed for photographic expeditions; we just asked for a tour. All depends on how you word your request! It was a great adventure in a magical place. We highly recommend it!

I have been traveling around the country this summer and have seen many beautiful things, but I would have to say the biggest highlight was taking my daughter up in the helicopter with Ben the owner (an exceptional) pilot) over Arches National Park. It is something I will joyfully remember for the rest of my life. Ben made everyone feel very comfortable in the helicopter and his vast knowledge of the area was extremely informative.

I highly recommend Pinnacle Helicopters to anyone visiting the Moab area. It’s such a unique and unforgettable experience.

My wife & I were in the Moab area for 4 days hiking in many of the nearby parks. We drove past the small airport & saw the Pinnacle Helicopters sign.
After reviewing the tour options & costs on the Pinnacle website, we decided to "bite the bullet" & go on the Edge of Canyonlands Extended Tour.
For us, this tour was a splurge, but we decided this would be our 30th wedding anniversary gift to each other. (We did a hot air balloon ride for our 15th anniversary & still clearly remember how fun it was).
We were NOT disappointed by the helicopter tour.
The pilot was very experienced & knew the area very well. He described all of the areas we flew over & told a few short stories about the local history.
I braced myself for the take-offs & landings, but they were so gentile I would not have needed to.
If you are looking for a "once in a life-time experience", this could be it.
We took LOTS of photos & videos to remember the trip.

I did a 90-min evening tour in Canyonlands, primarily focused on the needles are. The pilot, Ben, is a fantastic pilot and a really nice guy. He was able to keep the helicopter relatively stationary so that I could get some amazing photos. Ben is extremely knowledgeable about the area and made it an absolutely fantastic experience. HIGHLY recommended.

This helicopter tour was the highlight of our trip to Moab! The views were spectacular and our pilot, Ben, was very skillful. He told us about all of the sites below and went out of his way to show us some of the coolest spots in the area from an incredible view. Despite some wind, he maneuvered us with easy and he has a blast, we went for only 30 minutes but felt like we saw soooo much and haven’t stopped smiling since. If you’re thinking about doing this, DO IT. Huge thanks to Ben and Dacia for taking care of us giving us a memory we won’t forget.

We had an amazing experience with back to back helicopter rides for our family of five. The scheduling process was really easy over the phone and the owner and pilot we’re both awesome once we arrived. We had great views and a very personal experience which was a wonderful surprise for the whole family. Definitely recommend. Call co-owner Daci directly rather than going through the Moab adventure hotline (which tries to steer you to a plane with another company instead).

Our family took an early-morning helicopter ride this August. They recommended we go earlier so the air was less bumpy, and we all felt the ride was very smooth and enjoyable. The helicopters seemed very new and well maintained. The facility is clean and comfortable, and the owners were very courteous. The pilot knew a ton about the local geology and history, and gave some really interesting insights into the landscape. It was a very cool way to tour the are and see some of the landscape. Our elementary-aged kids loved the experience.

We took the Edge of Canyonlands tour. It was awesome!!! The views were incredible. We were only going to be in the area for a few days and not able to do a lot of long distance hiking. This was a great way for us to get an overview of the area. The pilot was outstanding- I get a little nervous but he set me at ease. The flight was in the morning and we didn't experience much in the way of updrafts- so ride was very smooth. He was a great tour guide explaining a lot of what we saw and the geology. Very personable and inspired confidence. This is WELL WORTH THE PRICE! It's a great way to see the landscapes and great photo opportunities.

Excellent! Took my wife and myself on her first helicopter ride. This was the right choice. The pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He pointed out the land marks and made sure we got a good view as he circled them. I will do this again and will want to take a longer tour. You won't regret taking this ride.
