We had 2 days with MC (our guide) and went to a number of unique places around Moab (Arches but more remote areas, canyonlands and fisher towers). With a couple of longer hikes (our preference) MC built a superb agenda to share with us beautiful and very different places and experiences of a life time. Would highly recommend partnering with Deep Dessert and fully relying on MC and his recommendations. Will be back!

Two things blew my mind on my trip to Moab, Utah. The absolute spectacular beauty of the Utah landscape, and the knowledge and professionalism of Deep Desert Expeditions and more specifically our tour guide. MC was fantastic! My wife and I scheduled 2 full day (8hr) tours. One with a late pickup to catch the sunset, and I with an early pickup to catch the sunrise. I must admit I was a little terrified of a day long hikes in 90+ degree weather... but the days flew by. MC was sure to make sure we were staying hydrated and combining difficult hikes with rest periods and down time to keep us energized and comfortable. Day 1 he was early and really set our expectations. He took us to some spots we really wanted to see as well as some "hidden gems" that you'd never find without a professional guide. For day 2 he basically curated our days based on what he could tell we responded to on day one. The icing on the cake is that MC took a ton of pictures for us on our phone. He snapped all the best shots (a few included) from the best angles. Honestly we could not expect more. Highly recommend.

Go with Mike and get caught up in the wonders of Moab. Not only does Mike take you off road, he shares his love of the land through stories and history. He made us feel comfortable, adjusted the tour to what interested us, and kept us entertained the whole time.

Mike is the real deal, not seasonal staff. Another reviewer said Mike “is like having a local friend in the Moab area”. Completely agree. We never would have been able to do his 800-mile Hayduke Trail (look it up), though we wished we had done a longer tour with him. Skip the big adventure centers and go with this local guy.

Booked a morning tour for our family of five, my husband, myself and our three 20 something kids. MC showed up bright and early as expected after sustaining a significant injury the previous day. He told us up front that due to his injury he was altering our hike plans and I was afraid he would not be able to keep some of the family entertained without some "higher adrenaline" activities, which he was not going to be able to provide that day due his injury.
I was so wrong! MC took us to see some amazing dinosaur tracks followed by a lovely, very private, low exertion hike that ended with views so magical we felt we were in some scene from "The Hobbit". He then proceeded to show us numerous petroglyphs/pictographs throughout the Arches area and driving between sites kept us entertained with his stories about his life's adventures related to hiking and spending time in the desert. A wonderful morning for all!
Almost as amazing was the advice he left us with for hikes and petroglyph sitings that we could undertake on our own over the next few days. He was so generous in sharing his extensive knowledge of the Arches area. It became a sort of family scavenger hunt to see if we could follow "Hiking Mike's" directions to find all the special sites he knew about in the park!
Such a good experience, money well spent.
We will absolutely look MC up again the next time we are in the Arches area for more adventures!
Simply the best! Some much to offer! I can't imagine using any other guide

We hiked with MC for two days at the beginning of a 12 day trip visiting the “Big 5” and beyond. It was a fantastic way to start our journey, as we not only explored a lot of hiking territory but we also learned a lot about the entire area that proved valuable for us throughout our trip. Both days were actually 1/2 days, and each day MC counseled us on what to do in the afternoon which was really nice as well. We saw and did a lot that we wouldn’t have known about on our own. We felt challenged yet safe, particularly at the beginning when we needed to learn a bit about handling the slick rock - we built up some confidence that carried us through the rest of our trip. Highly recommend Deep Desert - they know the area and have a great depth of knowledge about the history, the geology, and where to grab a good lunch or cup of coffee!

The Man, MC is a world class expert on all aspects of the area and region in general. Our entire family (ages 15 to 50 something) was blown away with his ability to get to the key spots expeditiously and thoroughly. Again, with an astounding depth of knowledge shared with a very digestible narrative. Throw in his remarkable bedside manor, and one could not ask for a day better spent. We were lucky enough to have an amazing visit to Moab. Our tour/hiking guide, MC (Michael Constantine with Deep Desert Expeditions, Moab) knew all of the right places to go and how to avoid the crowds. He was extremely knowledgeable, safety conscious in terms of his driving ability and COVID care, articulate and great fun. We would highly recommend contacting him for all your hiking, guiding and expedition needs while in the Moab, UT area.

We did two hiking trips with MC: first was a day hike in Chesler Park (Needles District of Canyonlands National Park), and a 1/2 day Fisher’s Tower hike. For the Needles, MC gave us the option of the 11.5 or 14 mile hike. If you go for a hike of that length, you’ll want to bring 2-3 liters of water per person. The Fisher’s Tower hike is 5 miles, and probably a liter of water per person is sufficient. We hiked in October.

MC was an excellent guide. He was prompt, informative, knowledgeable, and friendly. Using Deep Desert Expeditions is like having a local friend in the Moab area. He offered other hiking recommendations, and made himself available for advice during our time in Moab even when we were not hiking with him.

Deep Desert Expeditions pick you up and drop you off at your local accommodation. At the time we hiked, they offered a discount if you use their hiking guides for multiple days of hiking.

Both hikes had incredible scenery. Would highly recommend hiking with MC at Deep Desert Expeditions. He is always willing to stop and take breaks when needed and will take excellent photos of you on the hike for good memories. Great guide and company!

We spent an incredible day with MC with Deep Dessert Expeditions. From bringing us through the original entrance into Arches (stopping to check out dinosaur tracks along the way) and off roading the entire time, he was able to avoid the crazy lines into the park. MC was a wealth of knowledge. He kept the whole crew engaged and entertained. Would highly recommend booking a tour with him. Your only disappointment will be that the day goes by too fast.

Treat yourself to an in-depth experience of the Utah canyon and mountain lands via a private 4wheel drive excursion. Learn the geology and some history, marvel at the rock formations, view rock art. Our guide, MC, tailored short but very rewarding hikes to our abilities. We would never have found these locations on our own!
