I have rented horses on my travels but none can compare to the quality of these horses and the variable terrain that we rode on. You can also rent mules that are absolutely beautiful and big. The ups and downs, the hoodoos oh, and the Onion River make this ride special. The people that work there we're just as nice as could be and very informative along the ride. Prospectors Valley and the views of Castle Rock are unmatched! Is that good enough…

If you are on the fence about taking this ride... just do it! We (a group of 5 ladies) took the 3 hour ride with "T" as our guide and never regretted it for a minute. It was snowy and chilly and we were worried about them canceling... no worries! Moab Horses ride year round in all conditions. We called and texted back and forth several times and they worked to make adjustments for weather and time. Truly the best folks you could work with who did everything possible to make sure our ride was awesome. And top that off with good stock that is well fed, friendly, sound and well outfitted with good gear. My group has done plenty of rides in the U.S. while on vacation and those things listed above are NOT always a given! A smooth moving horse and a quality saddle sure does make the difference and sets you up for a very enjoyable ride. This is a great place to ride from and the countryside is lovely. We rode washes, ridge lines, gullies and open country. A nice mix that made for beautiful photos!…

I've done rides all across the U.S. and this was the best ever. It started out with the most beautiful drive down Hwy #128 out of Moab which brought us to the ranch. The horses were very well kept and awesome to ride - not dead headed packers like some places. The terrain was interesting and the sites were amazing. I highly recommend Moab Horses to EVERYONE!!! Novice and Riders of all types!…

Highly recommend this ranch for horseback riding. We rode Monday morning after it snowed and our tour guide was wonderful, even though it was very cold it was absolutely beautiful to see the snow on the ground while riding. My husband and I rode Zina and Biscuit, they were awesome!…

I am an experienced rider, my spouse is not, so it's always a gamble if trail riding outfits can effectively accommodate both of us. The team at Hauer Ranch did a great job. Tea was our guide, and she was awesome! I rode Chief (Missouri Fox Trotter) and my spouse rode Boudraix (sp?) (Tennessee Walker), and we both had a great time and were very comfortable on our respective horses. Tea made sure to give us a few chances to jog/canter, which I really appreciated, and the ride was just stunning. Tea was very knowledgable about the history and ecology of the region, and we had an excellent 2+ hour ride. The horses & mules are all very well-cared for and well-loved; and I got the sense that at least some of the herd are rescues. Hauer Ranch clearly puts the well-being of the horses first, which is always my #1 priority when choosing a place to ride.…
