My husband, daughter and I did a trail ride at Hauer Ranch this morning. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather. They started right on time (despite us being a little late!) and our guide, Callie, was great. She was very enthusiastic and informative. She...More

My daughter and I had a great custom ride led by Renee. She truly gave us a feel for the gorgeous land and let us have all the riding experience we wanted; trotting up and down hills and cantering through washouts. The horses were great!...More

While in Moab we were looking for a horseback riding experience for our daughter who has been riding for 10 years. After speaking with the owner Sena Hauer, she tailored an experience for our daughter that she still talks about. Of all the things we...More

Ride in the horse steps of Butch Cassidy's gang over the Outlaw Trail or ponder one of the many western films that used the Hauer Ranch as a setting. Smile as you ride past dog rock that you may recognize from the movie "City Slickers...More

We experienced a wonderful 2-hour, morning western horseback ride with Hauer Ranch at the start of our 10-day Southwest Utah National Parks vacation in April. Trace, our cowboy guide, led our group through western movie-country, crossing a stream multiple times and having the opportunity to...More

Thanks, Christi, for riding with us and describing our standard group rides so well. If you come back to Moab, consider booking a private ride which--for skilled riders--can take the speeds up to trotting and cantering. Happy Trails!

This is my second time going on a horseback ride like this, and it was very different from my first experience (near Steamboat Springs). If you want to use a horse as your vehicle on which to explore the desert, following a guide, then this...More

Thanks for your lengthy review of Moab Horses. You have provided some helpful information for future guests! It is true that our standard small group rides (8 or fewer) are in a line behind a guide for the safety of riders. Guests wishing for more...More

The guide, James, was very personable and entertaining. They worked to get us on a great tour, matched us up well with horses. The scenery is breath-taking! One of the best deals for the ride we've been on.

Hi. We are booked at the ranch at the end of Sept. Our son is a 29 year old, small (5'.1, 130 lbs) developmentally disabled person with cerebral palsy. He is a great guy, very gentle, socially adept, sweet, and does his best in all he tries. A Special Olympics champion in several sports, he used to ride at Lil' Bit Therapeutic Riding Center near our home in Seattle, but always with guiding assistance. Obviously that wouldn't work in a group ride. I am wondering if he might ride double with one of us? Thank you, Carla

Looking forward to being in Moab for our 45th anniversary in Sept, and especially taking my wife on a half day ride. I can't seem to find how you are to be paid though. Do you accept credit cards, debit cards, or require cash? Thanks, and was pleased to chat with you earlier on the phone.

Hi and yes we can take kids as young as five. We have some very gentle mules and a few horses for young children and we require them to wear helmets which we provide. Please call me directly. 435-260-1582.
