We booked a late September Westwater Canyon trip with Sheri Griffith Expeditions that was cancelled because of inadequate registration. Kristl at Sheri Griffith was great in informing us of the cancellation and giving us options for another day, a refund, or rebooking with another company. Unfortunately, the alternative dates didn't work with our itinerary. We asked Kristl to book us with another company. She cheerfully took care of all of the details. I was very impressed that Sheri Griffith Expeditions took such good care of us even though we weren't able to do a trip with them.…

Over the last 18 years, I have done 4 multi-day charter trips with Sheri Griffith Expeditions. One amazing river trip after another keeps me coming back …The whole outfit is a class act and the guides are amazing…..skillful to get you down the river, knowledgeable about the history and incredible terrain through which you paddle, and fun and playful as well! They work hard (my trips, by request, have all been women guides) to ensure a trip that expands your horizons and gives you an experience of a lifetime. Kudos to Brenda and Kristl especially, for the many years, and to them plus Payton, Dani, Dee and Kennedy for this year. …

Westwater Canyon was a pleasant overnight rafting trip offering great views of a deep, narrow canyon with thousand foot walls on either side. Eighteen miles in length with a launch 2+ hours from Moab, Westwater Canyon can be done in one full day but we were pleased with the more leisurely overnight version. The first day had class I & II rapids and second day III and IV rapids with the best part about 45 minutes early in the second day featuring Marble, Gunshot, Funnel, Skull, Surprise and Last Chance rapids. The campsite along the river offered a broad sandy plain with great views of the canyon and pleasant backdrop of the rapids. The meals were fantastic and champagne at the end was a nice touch. Our guides Jake and Reese were fantastic.…

My husband and our two friends (B and Emma) went on the 5-day Yampa river trip from June 1-5. Our amazing guides were (alphabetically), Alex, D, Danni, Owen, and Peyton, who was the trip leader. To put it bluntly: this was one of the best trips of my life. The highlights were: the guides and the knowledge that they shared with us, the scenery, and the rush that comes with white water rafting for the first time. We spent most of our time on the paddle boat with Danni, which allowed us to get in on the paddling action when we went through white water. Danni was fantastic at telling us what to expect and when/how to paddle. As someone for whom this was a new kind of vacation, this was really helpful to ease some of my anxiety. Along the same lines, I want to be sure that I call out how great Peyton (and all of the other guides were) with explaining to us what we could expect each day: they know the Yampa and Green rivers like the back of their hands and allow the group to see the bigger rapids during scouting stops. Our class-4 rapid was Warm Springs and my husband and I did it alone in an oar boat with Alex. I was, to put it bluntly, terrified because I didn't know what to expect. I closed my eyes and held on tight while Alex expertly navigated us around the rocks and waves. When I finally too a breath, it was back to beautiful scenery and conversation between the three of us on the boat. Nothing to be scared of! Our days were: early morning coffee, breakfast, packing up from the previous night's camping, rafting for 1/2 a day, lunch and a hike, rafting for the second half, and then settling in for the evening. I loved the pace of each day: calm water allowed for sight-seeing and rapids for an adrenaline rush. Lunch and the hikes were perfectly timed to allow people to rest or explore, and the food (all 3 meals!) was always delicious. Dinner, drinks, and chatting with the other guests and guides were a great way to close out; everyone was friendly and willing to talk. A few pieces of advice (for others booking): - If you think you've packed enough sunscreen, you haven't. Bring more! (The same goes for beer if you're a drinker.) - Drink water throughout the day! the sun is very, very intense. Alex, D, Danni, Owen, and Peyton (and the entire Sheri Griffith team), THANK YOU! You made this trip what it was for us. Your knowledge of the area, geology, and history made it a learning opportunity and your friendliness made it a joy. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. My husband and I will be back and we'll be requesting the same team, if possible.…
