My 14 year old daughter is an intermediate level climber and is the only one in the family who climbs. I booked a private guide for a full day with Moab Cliffs and Canyons, dropped my daughter off with her gear, water and snacks and waved goodbye. They were awesome about her just going out with a guide, without the rest of us, since she had experience. Adam was her guide for the day, and he was fantastic! Adam not only was a great tour guide, but also a teacher. My daughter wants to learn and push herself. Adam knew the right way to stretch her limits, while remaining safe, and showing her new techniques. The first thing my daughter said was "I learned so much" and then said "When are we coming back" with a giant smile on her face. Whether you are looking for a fun, scenic tour or have experience and want to climb in Moab, I highly recommend these guys. And the rest of the family got to do what we wanted to do. Everyone was happy!

We booked our 8 year old for a half day beginner rock climbing excursion. The booking was easy and they asked detailed questions about his experience to ensure they matched his skills. Our guide was Kate and she was fantastic. She recommended he climb at Ice Cream Parlor and it was fantastic. No crowds, easy parking, lots of climbing options, in the shade away from the Moab sun. Kate made sure everything was completely safe for our son to climb and educated him along the way on what she was doing to set the ropes and taught him to tie his own knots. He was able to do 6 climbs during the session and that was a lot of climbing! He loved the experience and can’t wait to climb again. I’d highly recommend Moab Cliffs and Canyons for any age or ability. Can’t wait to return!

Our Rock Climbing Guide Aaron B. took us out to the creek and taught us some crack climbing technique and my wife and I had an awesome time. I felt like an improved overall climber and one that came away techniques in the field of crack climbing. We also went to Looking Glass Rock the next day and he was able to teach my wife and I the process of mulit-pitch climbs and the safety that is emphasized with it. I highly recommend Moab Cliffs and Canyons and Aaron B. for his professionalism

We did the Chamisa half-day canyoneering trip. This was a great experience for our family, certainly the highlight of our time in Moab. It was fun to navigate the small canyon (requires teamwork, great for a family!) Had me grinning to watch my daughters (ages 7, 9, and 10) tackle their first rappels successfully. Our guide David was great. He patiently guided us through the canyon and gave us confidence that we could take on each obstacle successfully. We met David at 7:30am the day of our trip – we were the only participants on the outing. We were outfitted with all necessary gear in individual backpacks plus water and a nice assortment of snacks which helped keep my kids going during the excursion. Very short ride to the canyon. I’d segment the trip into three parts. First, a rock scramble of sorts up to a higher point of entry into the canyon. Then exploring the canyon (skinny passes and pools of water to navigate), with some minor rope work. Finally to conclude, an 80’ rappel down to a waist-deep pool of water at the bottom of the canyon. I’d recommend Cliffs and Canyons and David to any families interested in an adventure that will create some lasting memories.

Of all the things we did during our vacation in Moab, (and we did plenty), our Hypatia canyoneering adventure with Cliffs and Canyons was the one we'll be talking about for the rest of our lives. Seriously.
Our fairly fit, active family ranges in age from 17 to 65; yet I appreciated what an equalizer this activity was. I was probably the lesser fit of the group, yet I didn't lag behind or struggle where others didn't. (Was glad a trained a bit for it, though. Hiked about 4 miles a day a few days a week for several months.)
Our excellent guide, Sean, was a steady, competent, relaxed professional. Though a few moments proved challenging, there was never a moment where I felt as if we were over our heads or beyond safe.
If you can afford it, I recommend paying a little extra to keep your group small. (The rapelling sites can become a bit of a traffic jam.) Was glad I wore athletic pants that covered my knees. (You get pretty scraped up.) Also, glad we elected to leave extra early as it gets hot fast. (Met up at 6:00 am and were hiking by 7.)

Our family of three had a fantastic time on the half day, Ephedra’s Grotto tour. Our guide, Gisele, was professional, enthusiastic, attentive, and super fun! She inspired confidence in myself as well as our 12 year old. The two rappels were thrilling and the hike was beautiful! During the rappel you have your line in addition to a second line that the guide controls so you cannot get into too much trouble. We did see other tour companies that had MUCH larger groups and did not use a second line (sorry to throw shade but these tours are pricey and folks should know what they’re getting).
Everyone at Cliffs and Canyons was awesome to work with. The folks on the phone did a great job of helping me choose a tour that would be perfect for our family. A truly magical way to experience the outdoor, Moab lifestyle, maybe the highlight of our trip.

My husband and I has an excellent time on two days of activities. First Aiden was an excellent guide for a full day "rockaneering" they call 300 BC. A bit of introductory climbing including a high-up hoodoo, scrambling, rappelling. We had a blast and enjoyed learning not only the climbing and ropes techniques from Adain, but he also taught us a bit about the environment and history, all with glorious high-up cliff side red rock views, and we were the only ones there all day! (in September!) Nothing too strenuous, which was a great way to get started in moab.

We loved that so much, we decided to book a 2nd day, this time climbing with Dave at "Wall Street". We had little experience but wanted to push ourselves, and Dave provided a great balance of confidence and skill building along with significant challenges we loved.

I'm hooked on climbing and can't wait to come back to Moab to tackle Ancient Art in the future. I'll look to hire guides from Ciffs and Canyons again.

From the very beginning of my experience with MC&C, it was obvious that we’d chosen the right company to take us out. My girlfriend and I chose to do a half day of advanced rockaneering, which I’d highly recommend to anyone with a little experience in rock climbing and/or rappelling. What’s awesome about MC&C is that they’ll more or less tailor the day to you and what you want. For us, it wasn’t like “here, now we are going to do this”, it was more along the lines of, “Okay so we have a couple of options. We could do one of three things, then after that we could do one of two things, etc”. I also really enjoyed the fact that our guide, David, was super willing to teach me things as we went along. I have experience in mountains and snow, but less when it comes to rock. He taught me about the anchors he was building, the rappel and backup systems he used, etc., and that was really awesome to me. He didn’t have to take the extra time to teach me a thing, because after all he was only being paid to safely let us jump off of cliffs. Can’t speak to the other guides at MC&C, but if you get David you’re in hands.

My friend and I booked a 3/4 day trip to Little Sinbad Canyon with Moab Cliffs and Canyons. Booking was easy, our itinerary was clear, and all relevant information was provided upfront (E.g. items to bring, what to wear). Our guide Aidan was knowledgeable and fun! He knew the canyon like the back of his hand, gave clear instructions, and was always cautious of our safety. My friend and I had done some slot canyon hikes prior to this one, but this canyoneering trip still pushed us. Aidan was always patient with our group. I would definitely book another trip with Moab Cliffs & Canyons / Aidan next time I’m in Moab!

Moab Cliffs & Canyons were great. We did the family rockaneering and it was a great mixture of scrambling (which our young boys LOVE) and rapelling. Our guide Chandler made us feel totally comfortable and safe while pushing us with some challenging climbs. We can't wait to come back and do it again.
