Our group of 9 booked zip lining, canyoneering, and a half day rafting (kayaks) trip through this company. We loved all three! The zip lining was like a 2 for 1 with the thrilling keep ride to get to the course and back and the instructions were fantastic. Canyoneering was fun, but hot because of the hiking and waiting for others to get down. The 1/2 day raft trip was more fun than we expected. Although there weren’t very many rapids, everyone still had a blast and kept cool in the kayaks. I would recommend kayaks over a raft because you feel the rapids more, are closer to the water and get more wet, and can maneuver where you want. We had an adult and 1-2 kids in each one. The provided lunch was well run and very filling and the stainless steel water bottle they give you at check-in kept cold all day long.

We departed for the tour from the Moab Adventure Center where they provided each of us with a branded water flask; we were on a bus with about another 5 or 6 groups of folks. Our group was made up of families (like ours) and older couples and was very good. Not really any COVID protocols on the bus but there were a few folks wearing masks on their own accord.
David and his son who was driving the bus were great guides - they knew Arches NP inside and out and had a very good style. Their plan was perfectly tuned to hit all the key points and get us to the Windows for sunset.
We departed from Moab around 5:15p and were in the park for about 4 hours. For a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children 13 & 10), we paid $385 for the bus tour…I felt that was a little steep. They provided ample snacks and water to keep us going as we made several stops that lasted anywhere from 5-25 minutes so you could take quick walks and photo opps at key stops in the park. While sunset was great, the coolest part was David playing the sax in Double Arch - the acoustics were amazing!
In addition to the price, another negative was that the air conditioning on the bus was not great and made it an uncomfortable experience for most of the ride. I would have preferred to ride in an open vehicle.
I’ll admit it’s a little severe to only give it 4 stars…more deserving of 4.5. Would still recommend, particularly outside the summer months.

Our trip through West River Canyon with class III and IV whitewater was terrific. The drive to/from Moab was around 1h45m, but it was so worth it. To keep the day from being impossibly long, they lashed the rafts together and pushed them downriver, then unlashed just before the rapids started. We got to run all the major rapids (13? 16?); there was a big one around every corner. Each boat had a guide and 6 to 8 passengers and everybody paddled as a team. Our guide was excellent, avoiding the worst holes and otherwise nailing the best path and great standing waves. This is one of the premiere runs in the country and it was so worth it. After we finished the rapids and got to flat water, they lashed the boats and motored us out. Thank Goodness, because it was windy and it would've hurt and taken hours to paddle out. My kinda trip --- get in, hit the big stuff, get out. Great trip.

We booked a modified Hummer trip for Hell's Revenge off-road slick rock trail. It was a 2-hour trip, filled with exciting and exhilarating climbs and descents on the slick rocks. The "roller coaster" portion was super fun and made everyone laugh with joy. Also, our driver George was exceptionally experienced and put everyone at ease with not only his superb driving skills, but also his playful narrations and conversational interplay with all the guests on board (there were 6 adults and 2 young children on our trip). He did amazing runs through the sand portions and it felt like we were on a toboggan ride the way he so skillfully used the power and stability of the Hummer to give us such an amazing experience during every aspect of the trip. We got to make a couple of key stops along the way to get out, take pictures and George even provided snacks! The free souvenir water bottle came filled with fresh water, and came in handy on the trip. We would HIGHLY recommend this adventure to anyone who wants to experience one of Moab's iconic and challenging slick rock trails in the safest and most fun way.

My boyfriend and I booked 3 different excursions through Moab Adventure Center: the Arches National Park Sunset Discovery tour, an Air Tour of Arches and Canyonlands, and the Jet Boat Dinner and Night Show on the Colorado River. All provided amazing perspectives and memorable experiences -- so happy that we did them all. Moab Adventure Center was extremely professional and responsive through the reservation process, and in providing background information as well as email reminders that were very helpful. When I had a question about one of the tours, a member of management responded to me immediately and showed genuine concern for us having enjoyable excursions that met our expectations. I am very impressed with their organization and recommend them to anyone visiting Moab. They clearly have a passion for service and an exceptional dedication to customer satisfaction.

We took the Moab Adventure Center Hummer Safari. We headed out of town a couple miles to the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) slick rock area called Hells Revenge. that alone should give you an idea of how adventuresome it is
Our driver Chaz really knew how to maneuver this custom H4 Hummer over slick rock that was so steep (going both up and down) that I didn't think the vehicle could make it,
If that wasn't thrilling enough we then went slipping and sliding through the loose sand dunes portions. Its as much a thrill ride as it is a transport to awesome views such as the 2,000 foot overlook of the canyon and Colorado river below.
When he wasn’t busy concentrating on his driving skills he was sharing funny stories and plenty of info about the flora , fauna, and geological history of the landmarks of the area. If you go — Ask for Chaz.
I was surprised to see how popular this sport is-- not just for one time tourists like me but hundreds of 4 wheelers and motorbikes were out there too. This ride is definitely for thrill seekers and not for the faint of heart . I cant recommend it enough

We did the half day morning rafting with Noah (Newty/Nudie😃) and our teen/young adult kids loved it! Sure the river was pretty calm in July, but Newty made it enjoyable for everyone on our raft! Even the bus ride out and back from the Adventure Center has amazing scenery to enjoy! Then in the evening we took an Arches sunset bus tour with father/son duo David- guide, musician, author; and Mcrea- fearless driver and lizard expert. We could not have been more pleased to see the vast amount of Arches in such a short amount of time! The trip involved some short hikes, but so well timed to enjoy the sunset views. When David played his saxophone at the Double Arch, it literally brought me to tears to experience this beautiful area of our country (we are from flat northwest Ohio). Definitely excited to come back and book more adventures with this company!

Our Guide craig was amazing! very knowledgeable about the area and 4x4ing. friendly and funny. cracking jokes to lighten the mood when another passenger who was scared of heights was nervous. Took photos for us with our phones. I feel like being in the giant hummer that can go anywhere without tipping kinda makes you take for granted how difficult hells revenge is but the trip was amazing, would recommend and will contact moab adventure center for our next outing 🙂

Hello!
Thank you for your kind review and for sharing your experience with our Hummer guide, Craig. He really is wonderful and it's great to hear he was able to help all guests feel comfortable while on the trail. I completely agree with you about taking the technicality and difficulty of Hell's Revenge for granted when you have an experienced guide like Craig! We appreciate your recommendation and would absolutely love to have you join us again on your next visit.

We did the van tour of arches the sunset one from 5-9pm It was great! Our guide David was just wonderful and very informative. We felt like it was a private tour because there were only 7 of us including our guide instead of a full van. Our son who is 11 really enjoyed this as well. It was very hot so hiking was a bit difficult in 102 degree weather but as soon as the sun set it was tolerable. We had caught the sun set and it was gorgeous especially because of nearby fires creating smoke so the sun was really red. Thank you Moab adventures for a wonderful memorable time.

We were on the same tripe as loycemike, and couldn't have been happier! There was one large group which was divided up between two rafts and then the additional non-group folks were put on other rafts. Our guide Christian was amazing with the two grade school boys that were on our raft, jumping in and out, and riding the bull. The water was calm, but that was okay because the boys had never rafted before. I've been on Class 4 trips before and that was anxiety causing. As loycemike said, lunch at RCL was a great surprise! I would highly recommend MAC as the scenery was beautiful, staff (guides and in the store) were very customer oriented, and the other people on our raft were fun as well.

Hello. I am planning for a family trip to Moab in July 2023. I would like to consider a canyoneering trip for our family. My son, who will be 13, is a little nervous about the rappels. I will take him to a rock gym to get a little practice before we come. But, I was wondering, how many people do you allow on a canyoneering tour? I am wondering how much personal attention he will get and whether he will feel rushed by other people on the tour. Thank you!
Written January 2, 2023
Hi there,
I greatly apologize for the delay in my response! Somehow I did not see your question. We have a maximum of 12 guests on our canyoneering tours, but more often we only allow 8 guests. As others have said, our guides are excellent at devoting personal attention to our guests. We go over the basics before leaving on the tour so everyone gets a feel for the activity in a non-stressful environment. However, I would not recommend our canyoneering tours to those who have an extreme fear of heights. Once the tour begins, there isn't another way to go down or around other than by rappelling. Please feel free to give us a call if you would like to ask any additional questions. We are happy to help!
Kind regards,
Lecy Gillespie

Are there showers on-site to use after rafting?
Written March 20, 2021
Hi Nancy,
We do not have showers on-site, but we do have a great foot wash station located on the south-east side of our store. There are several places in town that have showers open for the public. I recommend the Moab Recreation & Aquatic Center for clean showers and lockers. Please feel free to give us a call at 435-259-7019 if you have any other questions. We are happy to help!

Hi Mo,
There is not a maximum weight limit for rafting, but we do require that all guests fit in our lifejackets, which requires a chest size of 52 inches or less. Children must be both 5 years old AND weigh at least 50 lbs to go rafting.

For the rock climbing, is there a driver who will take me to the location if I can get a ride to the meeting point? I have a ride to the meeting point but want to climb by myself and will not have a car.
Written October 23, 2018
I agree with Lewis8904. There is guided rock climbing through the MAC, and Uber and Lyft available in Moab. Not sure if you really meant you were going to climb alone??? But I have two friends who separately did the climb alone thing in Moab that came home in body bags once we found them. PLEASE go with a buddy.

For the sunset Hummer tour, does a guide drive or do we? I am a Mom with 2 teenage know kids and I do not want to drive but would love to try this tour! We’ll be there next week, lmk

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Written September 8, 2017
We were just there end of August and it was pretty calm. would imagine rapids are not big. If you can, recommend the kayak so you're closer to the water and "rapids". Mostly letting the current move us down the river.
