Everything about my experience with Magpie Cycling was amazing! I spoke with Nancy ahead of time and talked about my skill level and expectations. Mike Adler met me and the morning and the day could not have been more fantastic. We started with some mountain bike. instruction which was great. Next he took me to a trail that challenged my ability and was great to ride with. Very professional and a joy to spend the day with. He was so educated about the history of the land and Moab. Took me on several trails and gave me pointers throughout the day. Highly recommend Magpie and Mike. He even obliged and took multiple pictures including a selfie 😄. Total sport!

Great MTB tour in Moab. Nancy was great communicating for this last minute booking. The trip itself was AWESOME. Mike met us at the office and had everything lined up and ready to go. It was fun doing the pre-ride checks and Mike did a great job of adjusting on the fly when we have to change trails. He clearly knows everyone in town! On the trail he was a great guide. He knew how to balance staying engaged with his client so it was fun but to give room when needed. Great coaching along the way, stopping at the right intervals for rest or (more importantly) advice about some of the technical features we were tackling. Lastly, he did a great job sneaking photos. It was awesome to see them all once we finished and have them to go along with the awesome memories!

I just got back from a 5 day White Rim Layover trip with Magpie Cycling. This "5 star" rating is not high enough to really capture how amazing this trip was. Our group consisted of 6 riders, all friends or friends of friends. We immediately connected as a group and that's a great thing for a trip like this. The communication from Magpie leading up to the trip was exceptional. Maggie and Nancy were always ready to answer any question (and I had lots of them!) We met up with our guides, Eric and Mike R the evening before trip and they explained everything that was ahead of us. I have to admit that I was a bit nervous, as I had never done anything like this before, but their confidence and positive energy made me feel ready to take it on. I had not been to Moab or this part of UT before and the photos can barely do it justice. I loved the scenery and the variety of trail conditions. Okay, so now onto the review of Eric and Mike. They made this an adventure of a lifetime! As I said, their positive energy was just the beginning. It continued with their skills assessment and training, went on to their guidance along the way and their knowledge of the area, history and geology. Unbelievable! And I haven't even mentioned the food yet! I love good food and Eric and Mike surpassed (by far) any expectations I had for the meals. Every meal was lovingly prepared and was absolutely delicious. Some of the highlights: -Salmon tacos -Bison Burgers -the best chicken thighs (with turmeric) that I have ever had -Pad Thai (really?!) I would recommend Magpie Cycling to anyone thinking of an adventure like this. Thanks to the whole Magpie team for making this an adventure to remember!

My friend and I were visiting the Moab area for a few days and planned to try out mountain biking. I coordinated with Magpie over email leading up to our visit. The communication was great. Magpie is part of the owner’s name…. Maggie. Magpie worked out a plan to fit our beginner status along with the timing and location we planned to be at the day of the tour. On the day of our tour, we had some short hikes planned at Dead Horse Point State Park. We coordinated with Magpie to do a sunset ride following our hikes at the park with relatively easy, beginner friendly terrain. Magpie thought that plan was a great idea! Before our visit, Magpie sent detailed instructions through email about what to wear, bring, etc. We met our guides, Jules and Mike, at the park in the parking area. They were easy to spot as the vehicle had the Magpie logo on the side… Plus the bikes! As we walked up, Mike and Jules gave us a friendly greeting. They gave us an overview of the bikes, got us setup with helmets, and showed us some basic mountain biking skills to practice. It was recommended that we bring biking gloves to wear on the tour. I was glad we had them…. Purchase some before you head to Moab so you can be sure they fit. We practiced basic skills for about 20 minutes in the parking area before venturing out on the trail. On the bikes we wore our small backpacks filled with snacks and water. Magpie included a bottle of water for us as well and offered us a snack before leaving the parking area. I recommend wearing joggers and long sleeves to prevent any scrapes from some of the small shrubs you pass along the trail. The trails at Dead Horse Point seemed about the right skill level for beginners. They are well marked, signed, and fairly flat with small hills. Mike and Jules coached us where necessary while stopping several times to ensure we were drinking water, to point out sights, or to take photos for us. The terrain was fun and not too difficult. There were a few tougher spots that our guides helped us navigate. Nothing a beginner couldn’t tackle! The views from the trails were amazing! After a few hours on the bikes, we headed back to the parking area. If this is your first time mountain biking I would suggest keeping between 90 minutes and two hours. We tipped Mike and Jules and said goodbye. After our tour, we drove over to the lookout at the point to watch the sunset. It was gorgeous!
