About
No longer simply a rafting company, Red River Adventures is a leader in Moab multi-sport vacations! Don't be fooled by others offering "one stop" shopping only to be shuffled among the true providers once you arrive. We are the only guide service in town that holds permits to guide river, canyoneering, rock climbing, SUP and National Parks trips in house. On land or water our guides can do almost everything. For those trips we can't run ourselves, we've teamed up with some of Moab's best and will let you know, in advance, who will be guiding you. For one day or more we've got something for everyone!

My Dad and I booked a full day guided backcountry ski/snowboard tour in the Salt Lake City Area (Little Cottonwood Canyon). Our guide, John, was fantastic and did everything possible to make the day great. The route was fun and safe, and John gave us a few great options for trails to take. I would definitely recommend using Red River Adventures if you want to find a backcountry guide in SLC.

We did the half day Fishers Tower tour and had an amazing time. Our guide Adam did a great job tailoring the trip to our family! He gave us opportunities to swim in the river, told us information about the area, and even taught our boys how to do backflips off of the raft. We loved that he took the time to understand what we were looking forward to on our trip and then made sure to deliver on those experiences. Kudos to Red River Adventures and to Adam!

I wanted to do something besides skiing on my last trip to Park City, and ice climbing has always been on the bucket list (I've done rock climbing but never ice). I was not disappointed! I did a full-day guided trip with Carl, the owner of Red River, and it was AMAZING. The experience was fun, challenging, beautiful, and Carl was a great guide - I felt safe the entire day and I learned a ton! I already booked another ice climbing trip in Colorado this season because I enjoyed it so much, but next time I am in Park City I'll skip a few days on the slopes for another trip with Red River :)

Thanks for the review and for a great day out! Ice climbing, if done right, is a wonderful way to spend a winter day! Happy to have helped you find your way to a new passion! I’ll be here next winter, hoping to see you again! Carl.

I had such an amazing time canyoneering the Bow and Arrow trip today with Dan. Dan was kind, engaging and patient from the moment I arrived at check-in. As a person that has a fear of height, Dan was able to make our group feel comfortable by walking us though each hike and each rappel. The 120’ rappel was amazing!! He also did a great job ensuring we enjoyed the beautiful views as we rappel. I definitely recommend Red River for canyoneering!!

I signed up for an Ice Climb with no experience. It was amazing! My tour guide, Jon, was really knowledgeable and provided me with tips and tricks when needed. He was also great about knowing when to sit back and let me figure things out on my own.
I would not recommend this adventure to those who aren’t able to traverse difficult terrain or are afraid of heights. However, for those who can… do! What a unique experience!

Brian was fantastic with our 10, 13, and 15 year old kids of varied experience. He was so patient with our girls with no real experience, and he challenged our son at the same time. We could have done this all day with Brian!

Did an avalanche rescue course with John and it was fantastic. I feel so much more confident in my ability to respond appropriately in an avalanche situation. The course was well designed to practice multiple scenarios. It was just the right amount of serious and fun.

Trip was very professionally done with instructive and well informed guy to provided lots of information about the geology and animals in the area. Fun and engaging the entire trip. Safety was always a priority. Had a great day. We had gave us our guide and he was great. I enjoyed swimming in the river at certain points to cool off. Only minor concern was that the tour and it’s a little earlier than it was scheduled to end.

We did the half day trip (would definitely recommend doing the full day because it’s not that much longer time wise and you get more rapids) The rapids we saw were pretty small, but we did go in off season. Overall though we had a great time! Jake was our tour guide and he was amazing! He definitely made the trip for us. He was patient, kind and super fun to talk to :)

Easily the best ski trip of my life.
The snow in Northern Japan, Hokkaido, is just different than what you normally encounter; it is lighter, falls more abundantly, and is an absolute blast to ski through. Waist deep powder had the perfect consistency to lay beautiful powder 8's. THANK YOU to Red River Adventures for bringing us to incredibly good skiing. This professional, friendly, and pleasant guides did an excellent job all around: arranged excellent hotels, transportation, meals, and entertainment. Each day we'd have breakfast in the hotel, yummy and satisfying, then head to the skiing for a monumental day of making powder turns in untracked bliss, then an apres visit to one of numerous onsen (natural hot springs) for a recuperative soak, then an apres beverage and meal. This is a PERFECT ski day and it now my new benchmark on how to spend a day in the mountains.
The guides are so nice to be around - no attitude, just a friendly, easy-going bunch wanting us to get the best out of our trip. Although calm, these guides take guest safety seriously and did an amazing job with safe route selection, appropriate equipment, and excellent communication.
Travel, for me, is about getting away, out of my own head, and experiencing something truly new, interesting, and rewarding. Red River Adventures totally satisfied all of that and more. EVERYONE on our trip had the best time and raved about the experiences.
Looking back on the photos, I still cannot believe my good luck to have done this trip skiing trip with Red River Adventures. Thank you all!!!!!
