Stopped in on my way back to NC, and really enjoyed visiting all parts of the Historic Site. Grounds are well kept, and the displays are informative. Great piece of our nation's history.

Excellent overview of a difficult time and challenging presidency. Good to see that we overcame a terrible period in our history as a country. The National Park System hits one out of the park, like always. Three cheers for the park rangers! Detour to Greenville,...More

I would check out the visitor center. The exhibits are informative and Pres. Johnson's tailor shop is in there. Also, the view from Pres. Johnson's grave is worth the short drive over there.

The website mentions a Christmas closure, but I don't see a New Year's one mentioned. You might want to try calling them sometime this week or next so you don't drive over there just to be disappointed.
