Outstanding attraction! Crew was professional, submarine was well maintained and clean. The tour of the lagoon was just wonderful with narration in English, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. Lots to see and experience. Highly recommended!

It was great to take a trip down below the surf with our children. The kids were blown away by the fish and were so excited to see a stingray and a turtle! Thanks to the great crew, you were excellent with the kids akin game sure they were safe. Smiles from all the staff showed the local spirit of welcome. Great trip for the whole family!

I have been on a similar tour at Catalina Island, CA. This was so much better. The fish, sea life, and WW II ruins visible from this sub were amazing. Besides tons of tropical fish, a wrecked ship 120M long, and a crashed plane, we also saw a Sea Turtle and a Spotted Eagle Ray. This was a fantastic trip - though a bit expensive.
If you take this tour, do your best to sit as close to the front (pilot) as possible. The sub regularly expels fish food to draw in the wild life. This always shoots from the front of the sub, so the closer to the front, the better view of the food eating fish. (The front of the sub is entry hole with the large "person sized hut like" portal cover.)

For somebody who does not know how to swim, this is especially nice because you get to see marine life right in front of you, in their natural habitat. I highly recommend this for all tourists. Just make sure you don't have motion sickness.

This was a very comfortable enjoyable experience. The people were very friendly and helpful, giving clear instructions and watching for our safety. The tour was informational and beautiful. I was surprised the sub could get that close to coral. It was fun having the fish so near. We saw several turtles and many different kinds of fish and coral. The historical part of seeing plane remnants from WWII was awesome. There were explanations of what we were seeing, but I must say the intercom was unclear. I was able to understand part of it and that was good.I have been on other submarines where it was hot, crowded and I got sea sick. I was happy that this ride was so comfortable with good air quality and seating.
On the tour you start out on a boat, then transfer to the submarine. Once on the sub, you then go down a ladder to get to the seating. This may be common sence, but if one is afraid or unable to climb down a ladder, this would be something to consider. I highly recommend this trip for all ages. I felt safe and happy that I was there. I hope you get to enjoy it also!

On behalf of the pilot and crew of Submarine Deepstar, I want to thank you for your kind words and great feedback regarding the tour. Knowing you had difficulty with the intercom certainly helps us to identify aspects we need to monitor closely. Thank you. It is nice to hear your ride was pleasant and comfortable. We work hard to insure that our guests experience a quality tour, every day, every dive. And excellent advice you shared with your fellow travelers. We post staff at the top and bottom of both ladders to assist people as they need it. Over the years we have been able to accomodate many people with disabilities, who might not otherwise get a chance to experience the undersea world. Cheers, and see you next time!

Thanks you guys!! It was very nice to have met you and shared the experience with you. Our crew works hard to insure a smooth and safe ride... but the stars of the show are definitely the fish and scenery once we descend to the ocean bottom. Hope to see you out here again some day.

I wondered if this submarine trip might be more for my young daughter than us adults. But to my surprise and delight, we adults were just as loudly expressing our wonderment during the tour! It was beautiful and jam packed with sights--turtle, baby shark, loads and loads of various fish species, a wrecked airplane and a sunken ship. Really and truly beyond my expectations and worth doing whether you are young or old, a tourist or a resident of Saipan. When my friends come to visit Saipan, I'm definitely bringing them!

Thank you Rene H. for your wonderful comments. I think many of our guests share your surprise and delight! And because we are open to the sea, we get a wide variety of large and small sea creatures visiting us each day. Just this morning we had a small family of dolphins join us as we headed out from the dock. We never know what exciting visitors we'll get! We are looking forward to seeing you and your friends again some day.

We took the submarine cruise off the shore of Saipan. We saw sunken ships from WWII and thet were haunting. The captain of the submarine would chum the water with food and we saw large amounts a various fish. At one point we were deep enough certain colors were no longer visible. At the end we were fortunate to take photos with the captain. I don't remember the cost of the cruise but it was affordable and worth every penny. Don't go to Saipan and miss this.

Thank you David. I really appreciate your thoughtful comments regarding our tour. It's great that you enjoyed the WWII plane and ship wrecks. The beautiful clear water really makes for some amazing viewing of our tropical reef fish. I hope you also had the chance to get pictures of a sea turtle or shark during the dive. Looking forward to seeing you again some day. Cheers, Ron.

I took my friend’s family from Fiji on the tour. It is great for people who don’t scuba dive and for small children. We saw lots of fish and the shipwreck and plane wreck were interesting too. The submarine is quite comfortable. A very unique experience.

What should a person wear/bring? Any chance of getting wet?
Written November 17, 2017
Hello Liskeclark, and thank you for your question. We suggest you bring a water bottle and camera. If you have a young child you might also want to bring a simple snack of some kind. However, there is also water, soft drinks, and snacks available for purchase in our gift shop prior to the dive.
We recommend shorts or long pants for both women and men, due to the fact that it is easier to climb down the entrance ladder into the sub wearing that style of clothing.
The submarine is air conditioned and kept at a comfortable room temperature throughout the dive.
Thank you again and we hope to see you soon.
Ron

Hello,
Is there an age limit? Also, is the submarine pressurized?
Written October 27, 2017
There is no age limit for our guests. We see infants onboard frequently, with their parents of course. The submarine maintains the ambient/atmospheric pressure inside, during the dive. Children that have a hard time in an airplane for example, have no issue at all with our pressurization system. Technically speaking, yes the submarine is pressurized.
Written October 31, 2017
Thank you John for your question. We have no specific size limit for Our passengers. Our submarine was designed to be very comfortable for a wide variety of guests. We have accommodated many people from many different countries. When safe and feasible, our staff regularly assists passengers with physical disabilities to enter the submarine. However, as safety is our main concern, the submarine and transfer vessel captains may decide to restrict entry into the submarine if they feel there is a danger for any passenger.
I hope this answers your question. Thank you again and we hope to see you on our tour someday soon.

How long is a tour? And is the route the same every time or does it vary somewhat if you go on different days?
Written October 27, 2017
Our tour takes around 40 minutes, plus several minutes to get to and from the dock. Typically you should plan on arriving a bit early for the tour... so budgeting 1.25 hours for the whole tour is a good idea.
We have a standard route each day that takes us past coral gardens and a couple of WWII wrecks. But water conditions can alter that depending on the weather.
Thank you for your questions. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us directly.
