The area

Address
Neighborhood: Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.

Actually visited in July 2021 but just remembered now to post a review.

Small park hidden behind the iconic Transamerica Bank building. Nice place to take a 5 minute break while walking around downtown. We went early in the morning so there was practically no one (except for a homeless man that was just leaving the area. Very well kept.

As a Midwesterner, I'm not familiar with redwood trees. I've never been to the forests on California's north coast, so I was glad to be able to see smaller versions of the famous trees right in downtown San Francisco.

This park is a public plaza beside the Transamerica Pyramid skyscraper. It's open during daylight hours and completely free to visit. I found it a very pleasant little park, and it was fun to see the famous trees.

I'm fortunate in being able walk through this park twice as part of my daily commute.

Took awhile for me to notice the Redwoods in the city! Today I enjoyed the park just looking up at the trees.

Muir Woods is not too far away and fun to hike but if you're only visiting for a short time or want to connect with the trees, this is a great place to go to nature in the city.

Don't need to make a special trip, but if you are in the Financial District or near the Ferry Terminal, it's a nice place to sit and relax. Basically a beautifully landscaped, shaded, small, Redwood garden, with nice small water feature and sculpture.

The Transamerica Redwood Part is a serene half-acre redwood grove situated between the skyscrapers of San Francisco’s Financial District. This park was part of the original construction plan in 1969, and was designed by Thomas Galli. The park was finished in 1972 in conjunction with William Pereira’s Transamerica Pyramid Tower, San Francisco's tallest building. The redwood trees were transplanted from the Santa Cruz Mountains 60 miles to the south. In addition to the beautiful redwoods, the park has lots of benches and a fountain honoring Mark Twain that was designed by Anthony Guzzardo. It is known that Mark Twain lived in San Francisco and many believe he wrote on this site. This little park is well worth the valley sit and is a serene and peaceful spot in the middle of great but hectic city.

Pictures don't do this justice. The sculptures, water fountain, redwoods, ferns, and parkland all in the shadow of the TransAmerica building, are beautiful and serene. What a great place to get away from the city in the heart of the city! When you're in this park, surrounded by 30+ redwoods, you genuinely feel like you're in a forest.

If you live in a part of the world without Redwoods, run don't walk here. Nestled next to the massive Transamerica Pyramid, is a stand of honest to goodness Redwoods. Sit and contemplate your next move in this wondrous city. Chairs and benches abound for employees, and appreciative visitors. Breathe deep, there's plenty of oxygen right in the heart of the Financial District.

We have visited the nice redwood park at the base of the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco. The redwoods are special. Its also nice that it is so easy for anyone who visits San Francisco to see a redwood tree.

Its unique to look up at the Transamerica Pyramid and see the redwoods at the same time.

There is also nice fountains and statues in the park.

This small private park behind the Transamerica building is a very beutiful well kept and well design. A great place for people to have a space to rest while in the jungle of tall buildings. Stop by for a few photos if you are in the area. Not far from Chinatown and not far from the Embarcadero area.
