About
EscapeSF is adrenaline-rush Real-Time Room Escape Games, designed for small teams. The goal is to escape from the custom-built quest rooms using only your wits, logic, and sense of humor. Maybe you even tried playing other room escape games, but we wanted to build something more intense, with a heavy focus on design and setting to immerse you into the story, with the addition of some high-tech tricks behind the scenes to make the magic happen.

Neighborhood: Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.

Stimulating and fun
Jun 2021
First time I am going through an Escape Room experience. We picked 'Escape from Blind Tiger Bar' which was challenging for our group. But a lot of fun. We completed it with 19 seconds to spare. Grace was our hostess and she did a great job introducing the game and also with her generous hints :) - will definitely revisit. The puzzles were challenging and the set was done with a lot of thought to the storyline.

Well-done & fun
May 2021
When we visited, we did the King Arthur’s Legacy room. Although the room was a quest, rather than an escape room, the same concepts were there. I found the room to be well-done, with interesting puzzles.

An escape room from the FLGS Employee perspective
May 2021
As someone who works at a tabletop gaming store, these escape rooms have a solid set of puzzles. This company designs their own props and, while you will find some of the common escape room tropes, there are a lot of original, creative ideas. Also, the people who work here were amazing! (Thanks again T!) We did the Heist, just my wife and I, and it was just perfectly difficult (though my wife may have had a trigger finger when it came to that clue button!)

Far better than any of the escape-rooms-in-a-box that you can get at your FLGS, and miles beyond any other escape room in the area, I 100% suggest that you try this out!

Fun alternative for a night in
Oct 2020
My husband and I just did an EscapeSF virtual game and were very impressed. They have someone drop off the case at our home at a specific time, and you get to work - with live virtual help if needed along the way. The puzzles to solve were challenging but ultimately doable (with some help needed on our part once in awhile!) & took probably just the right amount of time to make it feel worthwhile, but not too long. Shout out to Ron who was along with us on our journey, he knew just the right times to intervene & was a personable presence. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for an alternative to the stay-at-home night in!

Alcatraz - Good for Kids / Beginners
Feb 2020 • Family
The room was incredible. Really sets the mood for the entire game and makes you feel as if it could actually be Alcatraz! Love multi room experiences and had a blast here. The puzzles were not overly difficult and there weren’t too many. One of the best “easy” rated escape rooms. Most times, the easy ones are more like moderates.

Good escape fun in downtown SF
Feb 2020
We tried the Alcatraz Escape (of course ...), and that was properly balanced: nothing too obvious, but nothing illogical. Our game master Cloud was really kind!

Unique experience with Space Bus!
Jan 2020
We came here as a team building event for work, and we split ourselves into two groups doing two different escape rooms. My group was assigned the Space Bus, and the other group was assigned to the Blind Tiger Bar. We walked to the Space Bus, which was a converted school bus parked about a block away. The actual room is quite immersive, as they tried to make inside of the bus to look like a spaceship. Plenty of sounds and lighting to make the environment more captivating. Unlike other escape rooms, the game master, Android Ron, was in the room with us, and he was a great host! He was in character, provided timely status updates, and when asked, provided enough hints to push us along. He gave a great overview in the end about all the puzzles and different thing he had noticed. Overall, the experience was awesome!

A side note: bring a jacket, as it can get chilly inside the bus.

Escape from Alcatraz & Blind Tiger Bar
Oct 2019 • Couples
Played 2 rooms while visiting San Francisco on holiday, as we often do while travelling. We had pre-booked the Alcatraz room, which was very authentic and good fun. However, as more experienced escape room players we found it a little easy, and escaped in just 35 minutes with 2 players. We were then offered to play a second room, which we agreed to. The Blind Tiger Bar is a much harder room, we still escaped but with around 5 minutes left. Some of the room mechanisms were not working 100% which was a little frustrating. But overall a great experience and a well run escape room. Also bonus that you are not mixed with strangers as some other venues do. I would go back and play more rooms there if visiting again.
