Loved this tour! Jay is friendly, fun and knowledgeable. The walk is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness (or otherwise). Saw parts of San Francisco we wouldn't have otherwise seen. I did this with friends on Saturday which was a lovely experience for us to have together then went with my mother and sister on the Monday. Enjoyed... More

My husband and I went on this tour a week ago and found it extremely informative and good value for money. Jay is passionate and knowledgeable about the early architecture of San Francisco. His tour begins on the corner of Powell and Post streets in Union Square, he walks his group to a bus stop which takes us a few... More

This tour was fantastic! Jay's knowledge and passion about the Victorians was evident. He is a great host, keeping the tour lively with interesting stories and information. Given all the San Francisco hills, he's created the walk to be very easy for everyone. Would recommend this tour to everyone who loves history and architecture!

It was a great your and a great way to see a special part of San Francisco. Jay walked us through lower Pacific Heights avoiding hills ( I was impressed) to see beautiful and some ugly Victorians, Edwardians, and Queen Anne's. Just as I thought I found my favorite, there was a new ne to see. The best is last!... More

Jay is a great guide and host. His passion for the history behind the buildings and their neighborhoods makes this tour worth the time. What I liked most about the tour was, with Jay, there was no such thing as as dumb question. He welcomed our questions and feedback as we walked along.

Jay meets his guests at the Powell & Post Street corner of Union Square for a guided walk of the Victorian homes and mansions of the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco. Our walking route took us past many interesting houses, and Jay explained the architectural features. The value of this walk is that Jay points out and explains many... More

I loved everything about this walking tour! I learned so much about these beautiful Victorian Homes (including what the term painted ladies actually means). The neighborhoods we visited were amazing, and I loved learning the history of these homes. Jay was a fantastic tour guide, and I would highly recommend this tour.

Luckily we like walking, as boy does this tour walk! You meet at Union Square and then get a brief introduction before catching a public bus to the area of the Victorian houses. This in itself was useful, as strangers to SF we weren't sure of the etiquette for buses, so it was good to get an intro from a... More

I wanted to discover the well known San Francisco's famous houses and this tour overpassed my expectations. Jay Gifford is a great guide, well prepared and easy to follow around the beautiful streets of SF. He's also capable of telling funny stories about inhabitants. This tour really worths.
