Charter fishing trips while on vacation can be difficult to choose as you are in a new location, fishing with different gear, trusting that you will be directed to the best fishing spots, and hoping that the boat is in great condition. Wild Wave Sport Fishing Charters is a company that meets all of those expectations. From the time of booking, to the the time we departed the boat, we felt comfortable, safe, and had the opportunity to create memory making moments. Captain Tom and Matt worked hard to help all of us catch fish that were picture worthy and hooked, detangled, and baited line after line. Plan for a half day trip and bring layers, as it gets a little cold fishing in the Bay. Don't forget your camera as you will have the opportunity to take the most gorgeous photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the Bay area. Just to mention...my family consisted of 4 people ranging from 22 to 78 and we all had a blast. We only had to share the boat with 2 others which offered a personal experience unlike the charter companies that fill their boat with 10+ people. Add this to your list of things to do. It will be one of the highlights of your trip.

Three friends and I had a blast on our fishing trip with Wild Wave. Tom and Mike were both very friendly and made sure we had a great time. Highly recommend for anyone looking to do some fishing in san francisco.

Went Salmon fishing earlier this week. My adult son and me. This is what they call a six pack fishing charter. Only six people. Took an hour and 1/2 ride up the coast. Once we got the bait in the water it was 15 minutes to the first hook up. Everyone hooked and fought fish. The boat ended up with 11 Salmon, one under the limit, along with a few rockfish, The Captain, Tom, was friendly and knowledgeable. Grew up in the Bay and been fishing his whole life. I spent the ride out to the fishing ground talking about the area the changes in fishing over the decades.Mate was Mike. Very hardworking and conversational. On return all the fish got cleaned and filleted. While we were out we got a great bonus. Saw three different whales. One doing the fin slap multiple times, one tail slapper and one that surfaced 20 feet from our boat.
If you are into fishing this is the boat.
One thing to be aware of is you have to climb down a ladder to get into the boat. People with mobility problems will have and issue.

My 16 year old son wanted to go fishing in SF so we signed up for a half day (morning) of fishing. We started out fishing for Striped Bass just inside the Golden Gate Bridge near the south shore. There were other boats nearby, the current and wind was moving the boat and Captain Tom would keep on bringing us back to the best spot to fish. We caught lots of Striped Bass and I never knew fishing could be so exciting. After a couple of hours at this spot, we fished for Halibut to the west of Alcatraz. At this location, a woman caught a 15 pound Striper and we also caught 3 small sharks.
Captain Tom and First Mate Mike were excellent hosts and the 6 of us on that morning's group all left with a bunch of Striped Bass and big smiles on our faces.

I took my 13 year old son and his two good friends out for a day fishing on the Bay. Tom was a great captain, knew where to go, was very knowledgeable and we caught a lot of fish and had a great time. Boat was clean and in good shape. Tom recommended fish tacos for our striped bass, which were insane. I would definitely recommend going out with his boat. Just bring a warm jacket as it’s chilly on the water in the morning.

Capt. Tom and Greg where fantastic. I went fishing with my wife, both avid fishers, on a half day trip.

It was a bit of a “slow” day, there were four people on the boat. So that meant that we were very confortable, Capt. Tom and Greg made sure we were in the fish most of the time. We managed to get Stripped Bass, Rockfish and Halibut up to 18#. Would definitely recommend.

Captain Tom and Gregg are fantastic! Don't miss out on this experience. My husband and I and our 13-year-old grandson went on a 1/2 day trip. Of course, it's beautiful out on the water! But, Tom knew where to take us and we had a fantastic time fishing. They are really great! We caught so many bass, it was truly fun!!

Tom and Gregg hosted an awesome fishing trip for us! It was one of those days that created a treasured memory for my son and I. There were 5 of us on the boat and we were all successful catching our limit on Striper as well as two nice halibut. Tom and Gregg were very patient with my 11 year old son helping him to catch the most fish on the boat. I highly recommend these guys!

Captain Tom and Wild Wave Sport Fishing are the BEST in SF! My husband and I live in SF and we've used Wild Wave twice. Captain Tom and his crew are knowledgeable and friendly. They were great with our kids, but they were also great to talk fishing with. They knew exactly where to go to catch what we wanted and if we weren't catching anything after 10 minutes, we would move to another spot (so the kids didn't get bored!). On our trip this morning we caught leopard sharks, rock cod, striped bass and halibut! Our kids were in heaven and we made some great memories. Whether you're a resident in the City, a visitor, a family or an avid angler, Captain Tom and Wild Wave are the charter for you!

Had a boat trip planned through an other company that fell through last minute so I went down to the wharf to see if I could find a charter and I'm glad I did because I found Captain Tom. He took my group out for a day on the bay. He really enjoys being out in the bay and made extra efforts to make sure we all had a great time out there.
