Amazing Night!
May 2021
The Cat Club was so much fun! The people working there were absolutely amazing and made us feel right at home and they had amazing drinks. They played all 80s music which made it so fun to dance to and have a great time together! They also have a go-go cage which cannot be used at the moment with covid but it looks like a lot of fun and they said anyone can normally dance in them! I definitely want to go back!

Felt so at home, two amazing nights at the Cat Club
May 2019 • Couples
The perfect end to a perfect two week roadtrip across the States.
Went two nights running and enjoyed the music, the service and the friendly interesting clientele whom we (I think) fitted in with perfectly.
Cheers guys.

Dance 'til you reveal your inner dark sparkle
Feb 2018 • Friends
This gem of a club is close to my dark sparkly heart. Visiting is like coming home..... to a dimly lit mansion full of friends who raided the deepest part of their wardrobe to reveal their inner being. Always a good time and the staff is full of amazing beings (maybe not all human).

Go Thursday Apparently - Skip Friday if You Want to Dance
Jan 2017 • Couples
CASH only in back - CARDS OK at front bar.

Horrid drinks. I expect to get pretty basic drinks at a dance club, but the booze was so cheap and "grain" tasting while also being ridiculously over priced.

We found the music very average to undance-able most of the time in both rooms. Disappointed - I had high expectations. In Seattle, Re-Bar has Dark Wave nights 1x/mo - 2nd Saturdays - much much better than this. On the upside, the crowd was fairly laid back and we liked that. And as others have stated - it's a very mixed crowd age and style wise.

The woman who did my hair while I was visiting laughed good naturedly when I told her of our misadventure. She said Thursdays are considered the better dance night. Duly noted!

Friday night ... Dancing Ghosts Goth club
Nov 2016 • Friends
I'm from Los Angeles and we have several weekly goth clubs . I went SF to visit a friend and we wanted to go dancing . There is -0- atmosphere at this club unlike the LA clubs but ... the music was FANTASTIC!!
I haven't been dancing with that many outstanding songs in a long time !
I had a blast and will make a point to go back to this club or dark shadows... ( I heard that's good too )

Dance the Night Away
Jan 2016 • Couples
We found the Cat Club listed in Time Out. It is in the SoMa district, which is slightly sketchy for a tourist but not bad. Our hotel was in Union Square & we walked along Market Street (avoiding cutting through Tenderloin...which is definately sketchy) to 8th. Not a bad walk. Didn't feel unsafe. It was about 1.5 miles one-way.

The club is welcoming & has a mix of ages from 20 to 55 years old. We didn't feel out-of-place. It was free before 9:30pm. It has 2 DJ rooms. On the night we were there, the theme was 'Class of '84'. Another night was gothic, & another night was '70s vs '80s'. We danced until we figured we might not be able to walk the 1.5 miles back to our hotel. It was fun, fun, fun!

My self and a few friends went here for the 5th annual Sandman's ball, one of many dual themed events they throw. Exciting place with great vibe and good times. Great place for a fun, eclectic night out!

Rack and Roll
Mar 2014 • Friends
This was probably the best $5.00 spent in San Francisco. The Red Hots Burlesque show at the Cat Club was very entertaining and kept us laughing for hours. We were surprised to find that the entrance was at the back door. The show we saw was called "Rack and Roll BurlyQ." We were prepared and ready to drink some "kitty" liquor as the show encouraged audience participation. The Rock show was LOUD and dancing with the partygoers was a blast. The stage performers were well rehearsed and kept us entertained. The drinks were strong, and I encourage you to ask for a small sample of the "kitty" liquor.
