The 49 Mile Drive is the perfect way to start your first visit to San Francisco. The Drive takes you through the high points of the City. Get a glimpse of everything, then go back to explore what you really like. A must for the first time visitor to the City by the Bay.

By looking online beforehand I realized a lot of the suggested trip is downtown through heavy traffic areas. I cut that out due to that area is covered well by utilizing the tourist buses. The northern, western, and southern areas are best to be seen by car. The route has faded signs which sometimes do not show up well. The... More

We took the double decker bus tour of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was excellent. Tour Guide gave a history some of the buildings, shops, alcatraz and of course the bridge. We were able to get great pictures because our driver and guide knew all the best places to get the best and i must say most... More

We rent a car we drove over the bridge, the nice part is the you are in the icon of a beautiful city, my recommendation is to cross back the bridge back to San Francisco before 9:00pm because everything closes at that time.

I rode a bike from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito and it was great! Be sure to go on a weekday that is sunny as it was still a little cold and the headwind is just so intense.

Be sure to take a map, better to take two. And don't try to do it by yourself, as a passenger to help navigate is so helpful. Unfortunately many vital direction signs are now missing, and none have been replaced for years and years. Others are hard to spot. The only part you might skip is the ride around Lake... More

San Francisco does not offer many tourist attraction, and almost no historical sites. The 49 Mile Drive is a mandatory experience. We've done it over two days, as it is intensive. Following the route you can see everything that is nice about SFO, both in a rainy and clear day. You can download the map through a simple Google search,... More

The 49 mile drive is really going to take your breath away. Definitely something worth doing on any weekend. Showcases the best of California's coastline and leaves you in awe.
