Pleasant staff in nice surroundings. Great for sports and games. Burgers and fries for both and both were excellent. Cali burger was just nicely spicy and sweet potato fries were very good. Good choice of beers and good music choice lends to a very pleasent atmosphere.

We happened to book a hotel next door to here which was cool. They have a great selection of beers on and the food was good too. They have lots of arcade games, pool and shuffle board. Really cool place. Also lots of tv’s and 2 massive big screens for watching sport.

After attending a concert at the Chase Center as part of the PCMA Convening Leaders Conference a few business colleagues and I went for a drink at the Taj Hotel (lovely hotel by the way) and after two drinks we decided to go across to the Golden Gate Tap Room opposite my hotel for a night cap. We were greeted by the most unfriendly, unhelpful security person I have ever struck. He insisted I provided photo ID. As a traveller from Australia who had flown half way round the world to attend the conference at the Moscone centre, my only photo I’d, my passport, was locked securely in my hotel safe. Now there is no mistaking that a 57 year old looks nothing like a 21 year old. I actually could have proved my age by showing him any number of things on the internet - my business website with my full profile, my LinkedIn profile, and a number of other resources of which he refused to consider. I think when I said - you’ve got to be kidding that I have to prove I’m over 21 - just look at me, he then decided that he was just going to be a jerk So then I asked him for his name - which he also refused. On returning to my hotel I asked hotel security if there were regulations that specified that everyone going into a bar had to show photo Id, and I was advised that it was not the case - security actually said to me that security guard at the Golden Gate Tap Room was just being an ‘ar...hole’ (his words not mine) So to my 6ft 5 or 6 ins tall security guard at the golden gate tap room, who turned away two business owners and a journalist, all in the tourism and business events industry, I can’t even begin to tell you how much money the bar missed out on that night and guarantee none of us will ever come back - but thank you so much for allowing me to have a story about your establishment that I will repeat again, again and again

Loved it here, wandered in on day one and was surprised by how much was going on! Had a burger, had a beer and played Skeeball and pinball. Overall a happy family.
