I was really frightened to book a private tour but knew that’s what I wanted, since they were young children with us. When I found Joe I called him up and just by the phone call I felt a very good vibe. When joe came to get us he was on time, and very welcoming. 5 min into the tour it’s as if we knew each other for years, laughing and just having an awesome time. Joe stayed with us for 7 hours. I sent him a list of many things I wished to see and let me tell you we did almost everything, with many surprises along the way. We ate lunch with Joe and he also had the people at the restaurant sing happy birthday to my son. We shared many great stories with him, the kids loved him, and the roller coaster rides on the hills the boys enjoyed them. Joe is your man to tour with, he knew all the ins and out, he lived here for 40 years so he knows what to do. We had such a great time with him. This man is experienced, educated, professional, funny, and just pretty amazing if I say so. If you don’t book with him you will not have the experience of a original living here. Joe my family and I thank you for the great 7 hours we spent with you.

I found Joe’s tour company literally while our plane was landing for our 4 days in San Francisco. To my surprise he was able to fit us in within 24 hours. We had no idea what a treat we were in for. From the moment he picked us up we were engaged in delightful conversation, fascinating history about SF and lots of laughter. Joe took us on a customized tour of the famous city highlights, as expected, but he also took us to off beat places with colorful history that only long time locals would know. It wasn’t your cookie cutter tour. It was way more interesting. Way more fun. Not scripted, personalized, refreshing and most memorable. Joe even serenaded us with one of his Frank Sinatra songs. Then he topped it all off with a late lunch stop in picturesque Sausalito. It’s one of the best city tours I’ve ever had anywhere. Joe is the perfect city ambassador. The tour guide you’ll always remember for all the best reasons. He’s even a good photographer for those pictures of you and the famous landmarks. Stop thinking about it. Just book him. “You’re welcome.”

An excellent tour and the most enjoyable experience of our time in San Francisco, Joe is a lovely person with a great deal of knowledge of San Francisco. Our tour took five hours and we saw so many places of interest it was incredible.
He took us to sites that tour buses cant get to and had stops at local places with some history and stories attached. Some of the places we visited, a park in the town which was on top of the bus station with a great view of the city then to Fishermans Wharf into a museum of fairground amusements, all vintage and working. Then onto several hidden gems, The the Palace of Fine Arts, Lombard St for a drive down it then we had a stop for pastries and a coffee. Onto Muir Park to see the massive redwood trees and the nature reserve. Over the Golden Gate Bridge into the affluent area of Pacific Hieghts with all the millionaire mansions. Then onto a little known viewpoint with an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean.
I know I have missed several other places he took us to but it was a great tour and well worth the little bit extra for the private guide and transport.
Loved every minute of this and the time just flew by. Thank you Joe.

Joe Cohen was outstanding as a tour guide for our 5-person wine tasting trip to the Sonoma area. He was timely, accommodating to our special requests (including stop off at Muir Woods), and extremely personable. We highly recommend Joe.

I arranged a private tour to accommodate the special needs of travelling with two senior citizens and two special needs people and couldn't have chosen better. Everyone had the best time and still speak highly of Joe. He took us to see what was important to them but most importantly we got to explore the city in places most people never go to. We call it "adventuring" and he is a great adventurer. We had a great vacation as a whole, but this was a highlight that everyone enjoyed. Joe was pleasant, informative, and had a great ability to connect with others. I personally appreciated the door-to-door service since traffic was atrocious and I for sure would have been lost for days.

A great way to see the city. We loved San Fran but our children (12, 11 & 9) were exhausted from lots of riding, walking and sightseeing. Joe was a great way to give the kids a break and still see the city. He was very welcoming and happy to accomodate our requests. Thanks Joe for a great day.

First our tour guide was an hour late. I am sure traffic can get crazy on the bridge, but you plan for that when you booked people in for a 9:00 tour. I don't know anything more about San Francisco when finished with Joe than when I was there 30 yrs. ago. His humor I thought was off colored since there was 2 women in the car. What really set me off was when it came to lunch (which he asked) do you want me to join you or eat by yourselves which made it awkward for ourselves and our friends. So we said sure not knowing he was going to stick us with his bill. I also felt towards the end he was running the clock and kept saying one more place I have to show you which was taking us over the time that we booked him in for. I know he knows he did not give us the tour that we wanted because the next day I received a phone call where he wanted to make it up to us and give us 4 more hours for free. We were in San Francisco for a short period of time and didn't have time to waste 4 more hours. He needs to learn to read his customer's better and listen to what they really want to see and do.

Dear Mikki18, I apologize that things did not go the way you hoped on your tour. Perhaps I didn't listen as well as I should have, was not sensitive to your high standards for timeliness, also my inappropriate response to join you for lunch is understood. I always try my best to please all my guests. I gave you an offer of a complimentary four hours before, and I still stand by my offer. If you want to take me up on this offer you can email me or you can message me through trip advisor. Sincerely, Joe Cohen ccarriage@sbcglobal.net

When visiting the " Bay Area" be sure to carve out some time to spend with Joe. Our group of 8 spent two action packed days touring with Joe. He knows EVERYONE is the city. Skip the gimmicky tour bus and see San Fran like a true local. Joe is a 5 Star guide and I will be sure to tour with him when I make it back to the area.

Joe took our family of 7 on two tours during our recent visit to San Francisco. He took us on a lovely 3 hour tour of the city on a Saturday afternoon. The day we flew home, he picked us up at our rental (stored ALL our luggage in his van)while he took us to tour Sonoma before taking us to the airport. Joe was just delightful and very flexible! We really enjoyed our time with him and his knowledge of the area. I highly suggest his tour-so much more private and personal than large bus tours.

What a fun several hours finally getting to see all the sights in San Francisco, interspersed with witty anecdotes and even some stand up comedy routines.
Joe is never stumped and always interesting and entertaining. Best private city tour we have ever taken....
