Terrific tour. Loved going off the beaten track, hearing about how Chinatown was founded, burned during an earthquake and then rebuilt. We saw special building with rich historical heritage. Our guides were knowledgeable, shared personal anecdotes. And they were open to our questions and new...More

Get off the Dim Sum path and explore the Chinatown Alleyways! You’ll be glad you did, because this is by far the best tour in San Francisco in my opinion… that’s after taking five vacations in that region. We were lucky to have Elsa Iao...More

This tour promised to tell lesser-known stories of Chinatown, and it didn't disappoint. Our guide was bilingual (English and Cantonese), knowledgeable and friendly. We saw a different side of Chinatown than most of the other tours and learnt a lot about its history. We also...More

This tour is led by students who are primarily from Chinatown. Maggie had great connections and memories, and has taken time to learn the history behind the buildings and culture of this small but memorable part of San Francisco.

Learned so much about the city from a perspective that is refreshing and meaningful (young people invested in the development of the Chinatown community). I would do this tour again—b/c I enjoyed it so much!

As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's
Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique

gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or
practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands,
