This company rents out poorly maintained bikes that are a serious safety issue and their employees show extreme lack of concern for an injured customer and preventing the issue for future riders.

Biking the GG bridge/Ferry back? (6 Replies)
We are considering renting bicycles (San Francisco Bicycle Rentals has been recommended) for a tour from the Cannery, across the GG bridge to Sausalito and back on the ferry via Alcatraz. Has anyone else done this tour? We are willing to give it all day (6-8 hours), but we are not great cyclists. Are their many inclines on that route? I assume there are bike lanes on the bridge but elsewhere? Any guidance would be helpful, TIA.

You do not need a "tour" to bike across the bridge and take one of the San Francisco ferries back to the city. These ferries do not stop at Alcatraz, just sail by it. Some city tours do drop people off on Alcatraz, but they buy their tickets through the official site, mentioned below, and usually add a surcharge. Do Alcatraz separately. The only access to Alcatraz is through the official National Park site.... alcatrazcruises.com. ...you you buy the tickets through them and use their ferry...More

Bike Ride SF to Sausalito - What To Expect & Where To Eat (12 Replies)
Hi, My boyfriend and I are looking to rent bikes at San Francisco Bicycle Rentals in Fisherman's Wharf and ride out to Sausalito. Heard it will be the highlight of our trip!! Here's the thing, i'm not sure what the route will be like. We're both pretty athletic. Should we rent a Comfort Hybrid Bike or a Mountain Bike? We will have the bikes for the whole day. Anything suggestions on things we must-see & and restaurants to have lunch at in Sausalito? Thank you!!
