This is a lovely stretch of land aptly named as it leads to The Golden Gate Park. There are two paths on either side, one is walking only, the other shared with bikes and scooters et al. Some nice statues and trees, very pretty. 1974

This part of Golden Gate Park is in the middle of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and is surrounded by some great houses and apartments. Well-used park. Lots of traffic whizzing by.

The Hippies used to be here, but no longer. It's just a great park and provides nice views for the residential neighborhoods on either side. Good architecture.

Yes, a garden in the middle of the city, with lovely entrance ways and paths and large trees providing shade and a lovely canopy. A lovely spot to stroll and escape the city hubbub.
