This park is amazingly beautiful so much to see walkways are well maintained and easy to get to via the muni bus system . The free gardens and fountains are really nice.

My friends & I visited this park not knowing it is a 4 mile park. So do your research before coming. There are a lot to visit in this park: California Academy of Sciences, Japanese Tea Garden, Tennis courts & many more. But be careful...More

Everyone is familiar with all the spots in the Eastern side of the park. But don't forget about the Western area...especially around chain of lakes and Golden Gate Golf Course.

I hired a bike and road around the park stopping at a number of the attractions on the way. I hired the bike for a full day so that I would have time to visit and sit. You must do it

You can spend a full day at the park and may not see everything, We visited the Japanese Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, and walked some of the grounds. We did not have time to see the Science Museum but would definitely do so next time...More

This park is enormously huge (I should know, we stupidly walked the entire length) but to be honest it didn't really feel like a park to me. There are roads cutting through the entire thing, and if you're walking you'll more than likely be going...More

Walked thru while in San Fran for 4 days. Great city park. Very long. Much bigger than it looks on map. Easy to get to via public transportation. Not many bathrooms. needs signage for facilities.

This could be such a beautiful place bit there is a colony of homeless people living on the park that are quite agressive. Did not feel safe because of this but this is a common theme everywhere on this city

Is it safe to visit GGP? I’ve become concerned about going to GGP, after reading numerous negative reviews here on TA. Some travellers have described it as unsavoury, dangerous, dirty or filled with drug addicts and homeless people! My wife and I are in our late 50’s and we will be visiting SF for the first time in Sept from Australia. We’re not exactly adventure tourists who can be ready for anything! My wife especially is quite nervy, so although I have included GGP as one of the places to see, I’m now beginning to wonder whether we should just drop it. I would however like to go to the De Young Museum, so maybe we should just visit that one place and then get out. The day we plan to visit is a Sat. Not sure if that makes it better or worse? Any tips to stay safe if we do go? Thanks
