I visited on a Saturday as it has the most vendors on this day and opens earlier, though the farmers market is also open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Plenty of food options both inside and around the outside of the Ferry Plaza building, albeit some were a little expensive. Nonetheless you are paying for quality here, which was worth it... More

Our group took in the farmer's market at the ferry building plaza. All of the group were just amazed by the size of the market with the numerous selection of fresh products. Our group enjoyed the Rotisserie kiosk but were a little late for the pork hocks which were sold out. We had the delicious Porchetta sandwich and a whole... More

I have been to many farmer markets throughout the USA; this is clearly one of the best in the country. Flowers, baked goods, fruits, veggies, eggs, fish, meat, etc. Quality and variety are top notch. Bring your camera and appetite.

I knew this area (and Cap'n Mike's Holy Smoke) was a tourist trap but when I realized that the unit price for the smoked Salmon I purchased was $24.99 per HALF POUND, I was astonished. You have to look closely to realize this and I apparently didn't. I believe the smoked Salmon was top quality, but no way was it... More

Perhaps not as many products as at the largest farmers markets in Europe, but what's available is representative of the agriculture in Northern California - incredibly fresh and healthy. The premises, both at the market proper and inside the ferry terminal, are kept quite clean. Good eating alternatives.

I love this Farmer's Market with its' diverse gourmet food vendors, fresh fruit vendors, vegetables vendors, and beautiful flower vendors. In addition, the Village Market inside the Ferry Building offers a variety of Italian foods, herbs, chocolates, soaps, etc. Plus the multitude of other stores inside the Ferry Building. What's new at the Market is a vendor in the front... More

This place has lots of little shops with artisan goods like olive oil and breads. It has a couple of restaurants and a coffee place too

I had the pleasure of visiting here today and it really is great. The food all looks so vibrant and fresh. The stall holders are great and more than happy to let you try before you buy. Unfortunately, I was heading to the airport straight after do could take much of the beautiful produce home with me.

The best outdoor farmers market in California. Lots of organic produce. Shop around to find the best deal. Most vendors will set their price by what their neighbor is charging. Check out front or along the edges for cheaper prices, usually from the same farms. If you like smoked salmon stop by Cap n Mikes holy smoked booth. Over a... More
