We were walking down Columbus ave when I mentioned to my friend that I had not had any chocolate since we arrived in SF. Not a full minute later there was a sign in front of us offering free samples of fudge inside. We roamed...More
My friend and I stumbled across this store while exploring San Francisco and we are so glad we did. The store has heaps of fun stuff, and we were encouraged to sample the saltwater taffy (something we’ve never had before!). Adriana was very helpful and...More
Awesome facility. Had dinner nearby and found ourselves in this super friendly establishment. Very helpful and the samples provided really helped with our choices. I would encourage all in the area to try this awesome "sweet" shop.
Even if you don't like fudge, you'll like this fudge. So many varieties! Known for their 7-layer fudge featured on the Cooking Channel. It is truly a must. Worth a trip to S.F. just for that! Absolutely delicious! Generous samples, too. There's also a large...More
I frequent Z Cioccolato any time I'm in the old North Beach area, mainly because it smells amazing in there and they have a hilarious (and also slightly irreverent) candy-related gift shelf. I've purchased many tasty gifts there over the years.

We came acrossed this candy store while walking around and went in to take a peek. Walls and walls of candies, chocolates and fudge. Creatively decorated and smelled like heaven, but very tight and traffic flow was not user-friendly. After visiting, sampling and buying a...More
Honestly guys, this place is the bomb. The fudge blew my mind, I felt like having had fudge from the south west of the UK, it couldn't be topped, but this place is epic. I don't know what kind of devils work they're using to...More
Lots of candy by the pound, especially salt water taffy: many flavors as well as oldie but goodies like jelly beans. I found the taffy colorful looking but unfortunately bland.
The fudge....oh my goodness, more than a dozen different types. Plain chocolate was divine. On...More
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style.
Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
