Every time I visit San Francisco, this is the one place I refuse to pass up. The fudge is phenomenal, and they're really nice about letting you sample everything until you find the ones you want. They have never ending flavors of taffy that you can mix and match (yum!), gelato, all kinds of different candies, and some fun novelties to boot. There's also a display cabinet with any combination of peanut butter, chocolate, bark, pretzel, toffee, oreo, caramel, and marshmallow goodies you can imagine. The smell of fresh caramel corn permeates the entire store, and after a $5 purchase, you get to leave with a complimentary bag to munch on.
I live in Ohio, so I was thrilled to find a website where you can order fudge and taffy from the store. I have taken advantage of this a few times, and while shipping does add up, it's a really nice treat and I would definitely recommend it if you don't get a chance to visit the actual store.

I visited here on a walking food tour. We stepped in and oh my word! Candy and treats all over. They also have ice cream and a bins in the back that have old fashioned candy.
They offer free samples. You have to try the seven layer fudge. There is nothing like it!
So fun and the owner is super nice.

Swear to whoever you want the staff makes this place.
When you walk in you get a healthy greeting like you have come back as a regular.
They force you to taste the best fudge ever so you got to buy.
Then to top it off you get a small bag of Carmel corn as you head out the door.
I had to go back just 'cause my wife found out we didn't get the fudge she wanted.
O my. If I lived here I would get fat.
Glad I am a state away..........or maybe not.

Honestly guys, this place is the bomb. The fudge blew my mind, I felt like having had fudge from the south west of the UK, it couldn't be topped, but this place is epic. I don't know what kind of devils work they're using to create these little nuggets of crack, but you have to taste it for your self. I'll be going back as soon as I'm in San Fran again!! Try the peanut butter fudge!!!!

We stopped here for a sample of fudge as a part of the City Clues Adventures scavenger hunts. They were so nice at the shop and the fudge was so delicious that we ended up purchasing quite a few different fudges to bring back to the hotel for that night's dessert. I also found some fun gifts to bring back for friends. It was very hard to not buy everything in the store. What a great shop to visit while in North Beach.

I'm not a toffee fan, but I am sooooo converted! This is a very fascinating candy shop. They have tons of different flavors/types of fudge, classic childhood candy, and the world's best toffee. While it's not cheap and the service was slow the day I was there, I don't care because the quality was impeccable! Amazing and I'm so glad they have a website where I can order online! I cannot stop thinking about that toffee!

If If you remember Cracker-Jack from childhood and loved that, then you’ll dream of the fresh in-store made caramel-corn at Cioccolato! I can’t get it out of my mind. Amazing!

This is the best fudge I have ever had in my life. I have walked by this shop many times and just thought they sold taffy. While watching a re-broadcast of this local story:
“Get world-famous, 7-layer fudge at San Francisco sweet spot Z. Cioccolato“ I made an order on a Sunday, and it was in hand by Tuesday.
The news story filmed employees as they made small batches of the many fudge flavors. The kicker was when the owner talked about the 2-day delivery. I bought a 6 piece order of fudge.
I ordered the seven layers upon layers of peanut butter fudge, Oreo crisp, caramel, marshmallow. It tastes like a cross between peanut butter pie and s'mores. The flavors are so fresh, delicious, and unique. I am still working my way through the box. I may join the fudge of the month club.

A total gem of a place. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly and accommodating. You can taste test fudge for free, and you also get free kettle corn when you make a purchase. They're very generous and the products are quite good. I highly recommend the place. I have been multiple times and will go again.

This place is awesome! We went on a Tuesday around 2p and the guy working was awesome! He was very friendly and talkative. Also, he gave decent sample sizes and wasn't annoyed at all the flavors we wanted to try. He also told us that if we bought a box of four, he'd throw in a fifth for free! We ended up choosing chocolate mint, turtle cheesecake, creamy caramel peanut butter cup, tiger butter (white chocolate, milk chocolate and peanut butter) and caramel pecan cheesecake. I've never seen cheesecake fudge before, but more people need to be making this stuff because it's delicious!! Check this place out for some fantastically inventive fudge and great service!
