After a nice shuttle & walk on a sunny day, it's quite sobering to view the exhibits at the Immigration Museum. Very well done, nice outdoor information panels and setting. Do not miss.

We had recently been at Ellis Island, so visiting its West Coast counterpart was a "must do." Truth be told, we learned more about immigration at Angel Island, perhaps because it is more raw history. The Chinese poems carved into the walls are quite moving,...More

The guided tour by a docent was superb. He was very knowledgeable. His presentation with nice elaborations was most interesting. Well worth the time as a part of a visit to Angel Island.

If you have family member(s) who went thru this detention center when they arrived in the U.S. and know a bit about what they went thru, this is a place to see. My Grandparents and uncle went thru here and I felt a sense of...More

Do not be fooled by the trail sign for the Immigration Station. The stair trail up the hillside is a doozy. To avoid the tram fare, take the bike trail (not nearly as steep as the stairs) or the road. (If you take a bike...More
