Jack Early Park is basically a steep dead end staircase running through the trees. The stair terminates at a viewpoint that looks across San Francisco Bay towards Alcatraz Island! The view from the top of the staircase is pretty decent and it’s worth a quick look if you are passing, but don’t make a special trip to visit!

Walking back down the hill from Coit Tower, we passed a plaque on a wall, next to a pathway with stairs leading up...to where? We had to follow them, and were rewarded after a short climb to the top of a small fenced-in platform with expansive views in nearly all directions, backed by a couple of huge houses even more impressive views.

This tiny spot a great little hidden gem on Telegraph Hill, and worth your time to seek it out and enjoy the views.

This was easy to find and nice and secluded. Nice spot for a romantic kiss and some photos. Isn't really a park though it's more of a lookout.

Padlocked when we went on a Friday August 2022 at 11:30 am. This is a long walk to nowhere and a difficult climb down to a senior citizen facility.
Don’t bother.

For those of you actually expecting a park, you will be sorely disappointed. This is a tiny landing that fits maybe 7 people at the most. It is at the top of a staircase that is in between residential homes. The entrance is kind of hidden so you could very well miss it if you are not paying attention. The view from the top is a treat. You can see Alcatraz island on one side and the Golden Gate Bridge on the other. There is a small bench at the top to sit and enjoy nature and the view. I would not recommend the walk up the stairs for anyone with bad knees.

This feels like you are walking through a private staircase in a back yard. There is a sign identifying the steps on the Street. It is well worth the trek up. There is a tiny little patio with two stone benches. I stood on the bench seat for a better view over some foliage. You can see the Bay Bridge all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Great picnic private spot!

I wanted to visit this "park" after reading about it, so I dragged my family with me. I thought it was great; my teenage children and husband didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did. After climbing many steps, we reached the tiny little concrete patio "park" with 2 little benches. There was a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge and everything in between. The view is slightly obstructed by homes which surround this tiny park. If we had planned ahead, it would have been a great spot for a picnic! We were lucky to have it all to ourselves during our visit.

This place is The BOMB!!! I was so looking forward to finding it and checking it out, and it was actually even better than I thought!

This is the city's smaller park and it is located in the Russian Hills on Grant Avenue, beween Chestnut and Francisco. It's actually hard to miss, so if you're looking for it, you''ll definitely find it!

It was built in 1962 by Jack Early, a neighborhood resident. The tiny platform overlooks the Warf, Alcatraz and the bay. There are windy steps that lead you up to the vista point that offers a gorgeous and uninhibited view of the surroundings.

This spot is romantic and beautiful and tucked away above the city. I loved it there and hope you will too!
