We love Rendezvous Charters, we have gone sailing with Captain Drew and the crew for four years straight now. Customers and employees find going sailing as one of the best adventures they have in SF. We get customers asking if they can be invited to our sailing trip. The boats are always clean, the crew is very polite and accommodating just a fun crew to be with who are very knowledgeable and safe. The food and drinks they sever are just delicious and perfect for sailing. Watching the sunset and seeing the view of the city are breathtaking. They offer various boats and trips and accommodate special request. For the most memorable sail ever I would go with Rendezvous Charters.

Rendezvous Charters sailed our team of ~60 people from San Francisco to Angel Island and then cooked a BBQ for us at a picnic area on the Island. They made it easy for us - they provided a menu that included both breakfast on the boat and lunch on the island. They also took care of all of the permits needed to dock and use the picnic area. They even brought a selection of sports equipment like volleyballs, soccer balls, frisbees for us to use while they were setting up the BBQ. I was consistently impressed by how friendly and attentive the crew was. When one member of our group spilled their drink while on the boat, one crew member rushed to clean it up, while another handed the person a replacement drink, without them even asking for one! Also, when it became apparent that a large portion of our group was trying to take pictures on the ride back, they stopped the boat for enough time for everyone to take in views and get beautiful shots of Alcatraz, the SF skyline, and the Giants' Ballpark. All this, and they still got us back to the pier right on schedule. We sailed on the Bay Lady (45-50 people) and the Yukon Jack (15 people), which were both lovely yachts. The Bay Lady was advertised as being able to fit 80 people, and maybe it could have, but we felt pretty comfortable with the 45 or so people we had on board. If I was going to bring a much larger group than this, I'd probably ask about booking an additional boat.

Sure you can take a ferry ride to Sausalito (and you should if you haven't done so). However, if you want something different, sail the Bay on a ginormous, cool sailboat. Sails from Pier 40 by the Ball Park, about a 1.1 mile walk from Muni.

I purchased a Groupon for 20 family/friends to take a sunset sail on SF bay in October. It was a beautiful night (typical for October in the Bay Area) and the sailing was great. The crew were very curtious. It was a wonderful experience for all involved and I would recommend the trip and this charter company.
