We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour (we were the only two) from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. Mark our Driver/Guide was informative, punctutal and friendly. Travelling down the coast on highway 101 , an afternoon at the Monterey Aquarium, and overnighting at the Victorian Inn which was charming. Day two we drove a private road along the coast, just loved Carmel,... More

It was a great experience! Kelly did a great job driving us safely from San Francisco to Santa Barbara through Highway 1. She knows everything about the route, the cities and she was great in all aspects of the travel. If you want to sit, relax and enjoy great views, Explore California is the solution!!!!

Glad to see that the other reviews were very pleased. Perhaps, it was just our tour that lacked. The positive is that the driver/guide was on time each day and was friendly. What was printed in what was included in the tour was inaccurate. First off, the van was not for 14 people, it was one of those rickety vans... More

As a former Californian who never visited the Pacific Coast Highway north of LA I was treated to a dynamic tour. My wife and I joined two from London and it was a great and personal time. Kelly was our tour driver and she constantly gave us views, restaurant tips, byways and highways that never failed to excite the visual.... More

We are an Aussie couple who originally planned to hire a vehicle to do the coast run from LA to San Francisco, and possibly hiring another vehicle to do Yosemite and Death Valley after a four day stay in San Francisco. Organising car hire, insurance, itinerary, accommodation and having to drive on the opposite side of the road was quite... More

I don't drive but I want to take a road trip from SF down to LA, so choosing this tour is a very easy decision. And it's one hell of a great decision. Adam contacted me long before the start day to confirm pick up location. And I appreciated him for that. For many wrong reasons, I ended up changing... More

We wanted to tour the coast south of San Fransisco to Los Angeles without driving ourselves but with some time to explore by ourselves , we did not want to be part of a large coach party..Explore California were the only tour company we could find offering this. We were very well looked after by Adam who proved exceptionally reliable... More

This was a great, small group, well planned tour, a wonderful way to see so many fantastic sights along the coast from San Fransisco to LA. Being in a small (and comfortable) vehicle had not only the advantage of easy access to small towns and more out of the way places, it also encouraged a good interaction between travellers. Kelly,... I took the multi day California coastal tour with Adam, I had a great time!! Adam is a really nice person to be around. And we were able to stop in many places for pictures which was great. I had the opportunity to meet amazing cities, like Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Solvang, Santa Barbara! Would definitely recommend!

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
