If you can't or don't want to drive the coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles yourself, then this is the way to do it. This 3 day drive down the coast is well paced with many stops along the way. We made the trip with Adam, and his enthusiasm for this part of the coast (even though he has... More

From 23-25 October 2016 travelled from San Francisco to LA via Santa Barbara. Our driver/guide was Mark who was such a gentleman, friendly, courteous and happy always a smile on his face - what a way to start a day!!! The trip was most informative and Mark's knowledge of the area left no question unanswered. Our luggage was taken care... More

My friend and I (both mature females) did the trip with Mark from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara along the coastal road from October 23-25. What a wonderful trip. Mark was very informative and we visited all the highlights along the way. The aquarium at Monterey was outstanding and the accommodation at the Victorian inn very good. The full breakfast... More

We recently had the wonderful experience of being driven down the coast from San Francisco to Santa Barbara by our friendly and helpful guide and driver Mark. For someone that normally drives on the other side of the road this was a great way to travel this beautiful coastline. We were picked up on time and enjoyed the company of... More

The conventional wisdom is that the best way to travel US1 is in a convertible, with the top down, and if you’re a passenger, I can’t disagree…but if you’re the driver, you’re going to miss much of the most breathtaking views anywhere. For most of the twisting drive, you have impressive rolling hills on one side and the gorgeous Pacific... More

We were thoroughly impressed with both Kelly, who handled our booking, and Adam who drove us from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. We didn't want to drive (as we are used to driving on the left). Adam was punctual, friendly and informative. We saw an abundance of wildlife on the first day and had plenty of spare time in Monterey... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour (we were the only two) from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. Mark our Driver/Guide was informative, punctutal and friendly. Travelling down the coast on highway 101 , an afternoon at the Monterey Aquarium, and overnighting at the Victorian Inn which was charming. Day two we drove a private road along the coast, just loved Carmel,... More

It was a great experience! Kelly did a great job driving us safely from San Francisco to Santa Barbara through Highway 1. She knows everything about the route, the cities and she was great in all aspects of the travel. If you want to sit, relax and enjoy great views, Explore California is the solution!!!!

Glad to see that the other reviews were very pleased. Perhaps, it was just our tour that lacked. The positive is that the driver/guide was on time each day and was friendly. What was printed in what was included in the tour was inaccurate. First off, the van was not for 14 people, it was one of those rickety vans... More

As a former Californian who never visited the Pacific Coast Highway north of LA I was treated to a dynamic tour. My wife and I joined two from London and it was a great and personal time. Kelly was our tour driver and she constantly gave us views, restaurant tips, byways and highways that never failed to excite the visual.... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
