This park is a nice place for a walk. It's not very crowded. You may encounter someone here and there. It's not somewhere that's been taken over by tourists. So it's a good place to go if you want to get away from crowds. There are some views from certain points in the park. There are at least 2 bathrooms.... More

Our car window got smashed and luggage and everthing taken so be careful. We were parked near the pond taking our son's dog for a walk.

My husband and I enjoyed walking and birding in the park. We saw many hummingbirds, chestnut-backed chickadees, and pygmy nuthatch there. It's a relaxing and lovely area that's not as crowded as other parts of San Francisco.

McClaren Park was created in 1927. It's named after John McLaren, who among other achievements is known locally as the "grandfather of Golden Gate Park." It's in Visitacion Valley, overlooking Mission St. in the Excelsior, and if you've seen the 80-foot tall blue water tower at its crest, you know which hill is home to the park. Eclipsed in size...
