My wife and I spent 2 1/2 days in San Francisco this past September. My wife had never been to San Francsico and wanted to see as much as possible. This tour certainly lived up to our expectations. Mark our guide was extremely knowledgeable about SF having lived there for the past 40 years. This is a full day tour that leverages cable cars, city busses, and footsteps to see all the wonderful neighborhoods and districts of San Francisco. As Mark takes you through each neighborhood, he intertwines the history and back stories of each area. A wonderful, long and exhausting day, but I strongly recommend this tour for first timers to San Francisco.

A fun, kind of irreverant look at the city! Great tour for those who have been to SF several times and are just looking for something a little different. Jason was full of interesting tidbits and his stories allowed us to see things we've often seen through another lens.

Great tour. We got to see a lot of the city and experience various transportation modes. Mark was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of the history and culture of San Francisco. We went all over the city and rarely had to walk uphill. Definitely a full day but a fun day!

This tour does not provide customer service
Do not take any tour that can not provide customer service! You should be able to
Reach the tour operator or office at anytime!
This tour also provides a vague address for meeting up or the start point! Blink and you will miss it. Even the locals could not help finding the meeting place with the information provided! I would give it a 0!

Unfortunately these guests were very late and missed the tour completely. It's explicitly stated on the ticket that we do NOT have a 24 hour phone help line. It's completely unnecessary, since we give guests all the info they need in the ticket. We also specifically tell guests to get there EARLY. These guys either didn't read the ticket, or read it and completely ignored it. In that situation there's nothing else we can do. As we later discovered, these guests messaged us at 10.10 to say they were in the wrong place. There were several more messages, with different telephone numbers, demanding a call back. Even if we did offer that service (in spite of clearly saying we don't) and we did call them, there's nothing we could have done anyway. We''re not SEAL Team 6 - we don't have real time info on where guides are - they're doing the tour for the guests that are there, creating an amazing experience. Again, it's in the ticket, if guests are late they WILL miss the tour (same as with a plane or train). We had 7 other guests on the tour that day. The meeting point is an SF landmark that is found by tens of thousands of visitors every year - the cable car station on Market St. There was a reduced service (every 30 minutes) and the tour started at 10.15. Would these guests have been happy to wait another half an hour if they HAD been on time and another guest was late? We're guessing we would have got a one star review for that! In summary, these guys have blamed the Uber driver, ignorant "locals" and, of course, the tour company. All of this could have been avoided just by getting there early. Like it says in the ticket. We understand completely. It's upsetting to miss the tour and lose the money, but trying to damage our reputation and blaming other people won't fix that. For any potential guests reading this: please read the information we provide and follow our instructions carefully - and then you WILL have the five-star experience that many other reviewers here have shared. That's all we want to give you!

“Dee” was very friendly and informative. We saw everything we set out to see. We had a group of 4 the first half of tour and second half was personalized with just our group of 3. We learned how to navigate the mini system so that we could do it ourselves the rest of the trip. The start spot was easy to find and right at the embarcko stop of bart. There is a fair amount of walking which is to be expected. But it’s very doable. You do sometimes wait for public transport a few minutes which is to be expected. We especially enjoyed “gay berhood” and painted ladies and Lombard street. Plenty of opportunity for a bathroom break. You get an hour lunch at hair bury. Highly recommend street tacos. Great service. Would totally recommend.

Jason was very informative. He had 6 people to walk with him. The first hour was fine, then there weren't any breaks like it said on the paperwork. We were to have a 20 minute break. We didn't. I repletely told him I needed a drink. Finally, he stops at a corner store and waited 5 minutes for us to get 3 drinks. Then we hurried off again. We had to stop in the middle of our tour and call a taxi to bring us back to the hotel.
In the LGBQ community Jason pointed out a window above our heads that was decorated with naked Ken dolls with their private parts enhanced on displayed. If Jason would not have pointed that out, we would have never seen it. As it was, we missed the painted ladies' houses, and the crocked street on the tour. I would not have gone on this trip if I would have known how much walking there was. The tour said Cable Car and on foot. Not on foot and a small amount on cable car. And a full day form 10 am till 6 pm. That wasn't information given until Jason told that after an hour or so. I was very dis

We're sorry that these guys clearly didn't enjoy the tour, we obviously want all of our guests to have a great time. That's why we do this. Unfortunately these guys were late for the tour, meaning that there was a delayed start. On top pf that one of them had significant mobility issues. Of course we're sympathetic to people who have to deal with that, but we specifically explain that this tour is not suitable for people with mobility issues right here on TA / Viator. That's precisely for the reasons that they mention here, the tour involves a significant amount of walking. The guest also brings up another important point - we had several other guests on the tour, who DID want to do all the things that we've said they'll do. Jason did in fact get a 5 star review from one of the other guests on the same tour, which just shows how hard he worked. All of the issues that the guest describes could have been solved by simply NOT booking our tour. Potential guests have to make that choice for themselves, but we strongly recommend reading ALL the info that we've put here for you. If it sounds exciting, please DO book a tour with us, we'd love to meet you and take you on the best tour in SF. But if not, no worries, just book with another company :-).

My 13-year-old son & I loved this tour. Jamie was a terrific guide, very entertaining, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I can’t believe how much of the city we saw and yet we miraculously almost never walked uphill. We loved riding 3 different forms of transit. When we told my cousin, an 80something SF native, she said it was the best tour she’d ever heard of & we agree!

An excellent way to see a large area of San Francisco in a short time. The use of cable cars, street cars and buses meant that a good number of sights could be visited. Dara and Jamie were excellent hosts and we all had a very enjoyable time. It is only when you have been to so many areas in the day that you realise how big the city is. One area that isn’t covered is the Fisherman’s Wharf area but this is best done at leisure rather than as part of this one day tour. There is plenty of walking but little is uphill.

Oh my goodness my head is still spinning from what I have seen and learned today. I grew up in Berkeley many years ago and thought I knew alot about San Francisco. Today, with Mark, I realized I knew nothing. Mark led seven of us for 8 hours today and we toured so many neighborhoods in the city. This man has lived and breathed San Francisco for more than 40 years. He's a San Francisco encyclopedia. We got far more than we paid for and I can't recommend this tour highly enough. This tour is not cheap, but it is a bargain! Don't miss it!

Great way to see the city and experience a broad range of life in San Francisco.

Our guide Greg was superb, and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the city, delivered with a smile and so many humerus anecdotes. Greg made sure everyone was included and we got to go on cable cars, trolley buses and ordinary buses and an unexpected museum tour at the cable car museum was a year - I had to be dragged away, and could have spent all day there!!

We were doubly lucky on our tour as a second tour guide who was learning a new rpute joined us - Dara - and she was great also, and made it a wonderful trip.

We made a load of new friends with the other travellers on the trip - totally recommend this trip.
