im slowly getting around to all the best courses in the area, and this was on the list. i will probably go back one more time a little closer to may before the PGA, but even now the course is playing very fair. thick rough, and narrow fairways, it was around 100 dollars each to play for my father and I who are both bay area residents, not SF residents. I dont mind the price, the course certainly delivered, I really felt i got my monies worth. reminded me of lincoln park and gleneagles... great course in excellent shape. a solid layout and great test... well worth it

This course restaurant has a great view of the 18th fairway. The food and service are very good. The bar with so many excellent beers on tap is a treat. Very casual and it has easy parking and a very clean facility. Lunch stops at 3PM. Their once a month Prime Rib dinners is worth doing. They do not rush you and the dishes are well prepared.

TPC Harding is beautiful, easy to walk and well maintained. The course is playing extremely difficult now, since they narrowed the fairways in anticipation of the PGA next year. In addition, the rough immediately off the fairway is the thickest and most difficult, since it is essentially fairway grass grown 2" thick. This course is a bargain for residents of San Francisco; not so for visitors.

The course is rather monochromatic until 17th and 18th holes. Lots of narrow tree-lined holes. Still an enjoyable day. Growing the rough to 4 inches for the pros for the 2020 PGA will be brutal. We both lost a ball in the current rough with shots not far off the fairway, but the ball really sat down. The practice facility is really weak. You warm up hitting from very nice mats into a net that is about 10 yards away. The range balls were uniformly in the worst condition of any range balls I have ever hit. Those balls would be perfect at the dusty range shown in Kevin Costner's movie, Tin Cup. For the price charged to non-residents, they could do better. Glad I saw the course since it will be on TV, but I feel no need to hurry back to play there again.

Without any PGA caliber tournaments, this course is fun to play and quite walkable too. But this course is preparing for the PGA championship next year and they've already started narrowing the fairways and toughening the rough. The rough is now a dense, wirey area where the grass just wraps and grab onto the ball making it very difficult to hit out of. I can just imagine how tough it is when they grow taller than what it is now. If you're looking for a challenge, play here but stay on the fairway!
