Description:

Magic Bus. Magic Bus blends past and present in a psychedelic journey...

Magic Bus. Magic Bus blends past and present in a psychedelic journey through San Francisco's rich counter-culture history. This two-hour “trip” aboard a brightly painted vintage bus weaves a visual narrative of San Francisco from Beatniks to the Summer of Love and beyond! With retractable window screens and digital micro-projectors, Magic Bus uses innovative technology to create a mobile movie theater on a bus. See San Francisco through a new window of altered perception and historical context. Sing along to classic tunes with our hippie hostess. Flash peace signs to passers-by as bubbles swirl from the bus. Stroll through the grass in Golden Gate Park with a flower in your hair, all on your time-traveling adventure aboard Magic Bus!

Building on a 30 year history of original, site-specific productions, including the original Alcatraz Cell House Tour, Antenna Theater presents a new kind of tour experience- the Magic Bus!

The Magic Bus does not purport to be a standard tour bus but a magical bus, we not only take our guest around the city but to the moon and back in time -wow - Standard tour busses generally don't do this but the Magic Bus does! As to witnessing two unfortunate guest not getting tickets to Alcatraz - this... More

We booked the joint tour - Magic Bus in the morning and Alcatraz in the afternoon. It was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. The morning was quite good. Not as exciting as some of the reviews suggest, but fun. I would have preferred a little more time off the bus. There was only one stop and it... More

First of all we are honored and delighted that you enjoyed our Magic Bus experience, most people do- which brings us great joy. As to not getting tickets to Alcatraz - this has been an ongoing problem with Viator which has consistently sold ticket to the Alcatraz / Magic Bus Combo with out informing us of the sale. You are... Our guide, Gaia, really made the tour great. The tour really captured the hippy vibe of the 60's and was a good tour of the city. Lots of history and sights. I loved riding down the street in our hippy bus blowing bubbles and waving peace signs at the passers-by.

You can't do any more with a bus tour than the driver and narrator provided. Sorry I cannot remember their names but I will always remember the faces, enthusiasm, and over the top effort to show us the summer of love. If you remember the 60s, don/t remember the 60s or want to know what the 60s were all about.........hop... More

This is a must - do for anyone who fondly remembers the 60s or even the 70s. As they say, it's not a tour, it's a trip. These talented people have put together a multi- media trip back in time. As you ride to various places In San Francisco, you are immersed in film, music and explanations of what happened... More

Interesting. . . This is not a tour to take if you are seeking to actually SEE San Francisco. But, for those out to have a fun time, it is that. The riders even were dressed the part with their tie-died shirts, big wigs, and psychedelic glasses. The schedule ran very loose, and we ended up having to get off... More

We did the Magic Bus because it was the only way we could get Alcatraz tickets. We are not generally tour bus type folks. But the Magic Bus was great fun, and provided a lot of insight into the turbulent '60s. Highly recommend it, espcially if you are interested in, or have dim memories, of that era. BTW, it's operated... More

We joined a tippy tribe for the morning and saw the city as is and as was. 'Peace and love' our guide shouted out the window as bubbles blew in the wind and music echoed. Our teenagers were excruciated by wearing flowers in their hair and listening to their parents sing along - "you'll never guess..." stories for their friends.... More

I took this tour with my 18 year old granddaughter and we both thought it was a lot of fun. I lived through this era in a small Southern town and was aware of what was going on "out there" but my personal experience was totally different. My grand daughter was unaware of this history but liked learning about it... More
