Super fun way to see the city.
Tip #1: We took the ferry to Sausalito and rode the bikes back across the GG Bridge to SF. Bikers board the ferry first and get the best seats. Also, we were the ONLY bikers on the ferry. On the reverse trip, there were over 100 bikers waiting in line. I think we did well doing it in reverse.
If you have questions, don’t bother calling. If you do call, don’t bother leaving a message. No one is going to call you back.
The bikes were in excellent condition. We had plenty of battery left when we turned them in.
Tip #2: you can keep the bike for 24 hours. If you get a late start, you can pay $20 to keep the bike overnight.
Tip #3: if you encounter a bike rack with a lock on it and no bike, don’t lock up the bike there. You think the owner unlocked the lock, took the bike, and then put the lock back on the rack? Nope. That bike was stolen. Find a safer spot where there are more people around.
Tip #4: Stand up while pedaling or coasting downhill as often as possible. Your bum will thank you.
