Braved the long, long wait for a seat at the bar. You must be seated here; there's no standing around. The view is wonderful, but I wish it had the old-time charm of the black and white photos they feature in the waiting area. My drink, a variation on a mojito, was fine, but this is not top-notch mixology. Back... More

Having been orphaned for dinner, I went to the Top of the Mark as a solo visitor. I choose to sit at the bar, which has about about 8 seats. The bar tender made me feel like home. I was only going to have a quick beer, but with meeting friendly other guests, ended up having dinner and a few... More

Heard about this while I was talking to other tourist on Dylan's tours (another review posted). What a great spot. We didn't book and we managed to get a window seat (but the advance tip at the door probably secured that). We had tappa's and a few cocktails. Our group of 4 looked at the wonder sights of the City... More

We visited the Top of the Mark for a few cocktails. It was movie night, so it was difficult to talk at our table once the movie started. We each had a few glasses of wine. They were reasonably priced for the location. The view was amazing.

The place to be to watch the sunset in San Fransisco. We had a high top table places directly by the window. Definitely the best seat in the house. I recommend getting there right upon opening because the lounge fills up quickly. We stayed on the 15 floor of the hotel and The Top Of The Mark is on the... More

Recommended by a friend to visit. Cocktail was average as not tart enough, presentation was average, The mocktail was good. Food menu was very limited so we ordered a classic dish and when arrived it looked like some Halloween joke .... upside down chocolate rumbaba with caramel. We sent the dessert back and when we paid the bill they gave... More

We had drinks at the waning of a clear day, seated after a few minutes on the side away from the sun and the better views. The drinks were not too expensive, but the food is. It's a bit noisy, but it is a special place.

Had drinks and dessert while enjoying beautiful views of San Fransisco. Loved the old fashioned ambience. Great combo added to the fun.

Four of us just turned up for a drink at 6.30 and waited a few minutes to be seated at the window. It would have been quicker away from the window. The view is good, but I was a bit disappointed and actually took photographs from the lift lobby. Mainly because the view wasn’t just the city there was the... More

We went for a cocktail at Top of the Mark, had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, as hadn't booked. Was seated at the window and had a fabulous view of the city. Stayed for a few drinks and watch the sunset. Drinks were a little more than in the bars but you pay for the view and... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
