This rating is for the views and the value. The Top of the Mark is definitely worth a visit. The ambiance feels upscale and sophisticated. Come up here at night for a 360 degree view of the city lights. There was a jazz band was playing when we were here and the atmosphere was lively. The food was very bad.... More

We were staying at the nearby Scarlet Huntington (2 minute walk, next block) and stopped here for a nightcap. Thought we may be underdressed, but on arrival realised we needn't have worried! It was all very relaxed. The decor though, could do with some work/ over haul. It does detract a bit from the overall feel of the place. However... More

Came here on a recommendation and I have to say that you will be hard pressed to get as good a 360 degree view of SF from anywhere else in this truly beautiful city. We shared a bottle of champagne which was not overly expensive. Lovely surroundings-as you would expect- and first class service. Would have been good if we... More

Very busy restaurant with panoramic views of SF. Cocktails were good as were the appetizers. The decor can be described as beige at best, but the draw is the view from being so high up and windows all around.

We were there the Sunday evening of Labor Day. There was a 30 minute wait for a table that turned out to be a blessing as we ended up being there for a beautiful SF sunset. We shared the Kobe sliders which were excellent.

Fortunately for us they had relaxed the dress code about a year ago. We were given a lovely table by the window and our waiter, Jose was very polite. The views across the city are great. I was less impressed by the room itself which was pretty Spartan. I had expected more. Also our tapas dishes arrived slowly and we... More

The view is pretty good. The decore is ordinary and dated. The service is at best ok. The drinks are too expensive for the experience.

We arrived early morning from Sydney and the Intercontinental Hotel next door to our very nice hotel was recommended by our hotel staff for their iconic brunch. Well; caviar, fresh crab meat, oysters, prawns, and 'bottomless' champagne glasses on the 34th floor (I think) helped write off the day! Ah, well, the jet lag was gone by next morning.

Lovely view. Great wine. Attentive service. A must do for a city visit. We watched the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge on our last night. Just lovely!

The view of SF on a clear day cannot be topped, and the servers were super nice and the cocktails divine. Very friendly service. However, this place is a dilapidated mess! The carpets are horrendous and dirty, the tables are marked up and old, the chairs mismatched and falling apart and the ambiance other than the view is terrible. The... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
