Visited Saks in San Fran to buy my wife some perfume, we waited ages to get assistance from a sales assistant. I’ve shopped in the Saks in NYC loads off times and never experienced this before.

Saks Fifth avenue is directly across from the Square and Macy's offering all the upscale clothing options that you expect from Saks. Great service, clean shopping and great location. After shopping here you can make your way to Tiffany's next door or Macy's and Bloomingdales across the street. Parking is easy with the Union Square Parking garage directly across from the store. If you are staying in Union Square, The Westin St. Francis, Sir. Francis Drake , and Chancellor are next door or right across from the Store.

The windows always show some high fashion and inside the prices are high, but so is the quality. The location on Union Square is exclusive. Take a look around; it's free to window shop.

As a local, I know how snobbish the staff at Saks can be, and continues to be. I had just shopped at Neiman's where I was also totally ignored. The only person to make contact with me was an amazing woman in the La Mar cosmetic booth. I was shopping for shoes for my rehearsal dinner, my wedding and my reception late afternoon on Tuesday. Never once did a salesman, and they were all men acknowledge me. Never. Not that it should matter, but I was wearing a very expensive designer jacket and casual pants. I looked at all the shoes at least 3 times. The shoe displays were unkempt and messy. Two salesmen were talking to themselves about an upcoming vacation. There was one customer. I will never shop here again. The sales staff seems to forget that they are employed there and I am the client that might have purchased 3-5 pairs of shoes last night, with plans on buying all of my bridesmaid's shoes there as a surprise. Please do not shop here.

We got it just right, unknowingly my partner was invited to a skin care session with a top specialist based in San Francisco, the promotion apart from skin care also came with an endless supply of champagne served by knowledgeable staff, even for me, just an onlooker.

The store is beautifully cared for. There are associates in each of the areas ready to assist you. I was clearly there only to take a look through the store and admire the clothes that I have no need for in my daily life. Even so, the staff was kind and invited me to take my time browsing the designers clothing.

Our salesperson was delightful and imparted great information about the John Hardy jewelry products we bought. We bought a $500 bracelet while at the store and I ordered an $850 Batu Classic ring via phone. The ring was ordered for an overnight delivery as a gift for Valentine's Day. The ring never came in time and arrived the Monday following Valentine's Day. After text and phone communication with Saks they apologized and proceeded to blame it on Federal Express. Saks even had the nerve to charge shipping fees to me but because of the comedy of errors they rescinded the fees. One week after I ordered the ring I still do not have the correct size and communication with Saks relative to a resolution have been untimely and prolonged. What does it take to get a new ring sent? Finally after a discussion with their department manager I called it quits and cancelled the order. The manager did not apologize for the screw-ups and was happy to get me off the phone. I asked for a confirmation of the cancellation via email and if the past habits prevail I will fortunate to receive it in a timely manner. Saks is good at selling their products....not so good at follow-up and customer service from management. This negative and frustrating experience will abrogate any further business from our family!

I'm a man, so Saks is not really the kind of place I usually go. This time, though, I needed to buy a perfume for my mother, and I couldn't have chosen a better place. The attendant was very helpful and patient - I spent almost an hour trying different scents - and in the end I believe I bought a good one. About the price I don't really know, cause it was the first time I bought perfume in US - they were basically between two and three hundred.
