This bar is AMAZING - think of a bar with 25' ceilings that has all the walls made from one Redwood Tree with amazing detail. Set in a great hotel, it's my place to meet clients after work. Then the all glass bar and great seating areas. Bartenders are very friendly. Drinks are pricier due to the hotel setting, but... More

This bar is one of the best upscale bars in San Francisco , close to union square this bar attracts some of the best crowds in the area, most of the people seems like executive and not tourists . This place is crowded and you can have fun there

We just love this place. It is a lounge in a hotel but it is still a place where the "cool" and beautiful people go. Beautiful dark redwood walls and bar, amazing craft cocktails. It is a place where the unexpected can happen - like a professional fashion runway bikini show. There is often a line behind the velvet rope... More

There was a jewel in the crown, the Redwood Room. Unbelievably beautiful, the bar is carved from a single redwood tree with a Murano glass top, art deco wall carvings and moving digital art images – a cave of beauty. It’s everyone’s favourite bar in San Francisco and the light bites are superb. What better way to say goodbye to... More

Fantastic vibe and decor - quirky, velvety feel and seems like its an iconic spot. Maybe this is normal for San Fran but I loved the table service - we were a group of about 10 and had a bottle of Vodka with the necessary condiments to make your own drink (e.g. Tonic, or fruit, or soda, or sprite, etc)... This is a beautiful spot to enjoy a drink, a very nice ambiance. The drinks are a bit pricey, but worth a nice evening!

Awesome décor and ambience. Friendly, attentive and competent bar staff. Prices are not bad considering this is San Fransisco AND a hotel bar. I was there during Dreamforce week, which I guess may explain the rather stiff crowd of guests.

Walls completely covered with Redwood paneling - all from the same tree. Art Deco decor and dimly lit original chandelier hint to its glitzy past. Bar tender was friendly and willing to share his knowledge about the bars history. Although my visit was brief, a fellow patron of the bar alluded to its popularity in the evening, so get there... So the service is friendly. Mostly attentive. But I had, perhaps the worst two martinis I've ever had. We were staying at the hotel so this was our watering hole. I tried a martini on our first night of the stay and it was horrendous. Stale olive juice or something. Whatever it was the martini was tasteless and borderline warm.... More
